Yeah they should be fine, but different leagues don't always quite translate perfectly. Perez needs to sort himself out like, really hoping he has a stormer at the weekend because he's not looked himself for a while now.

It's the unpredictability that's worrying. Perez Mitro and Gayle should be capable of scoring a very decent amount, but we can't look back at previous stats like Villa's strikers for reassurance. I'm still very confident we'll go back up, just might be a bumpy first month or so. I have faith that we'll respend in January if we are say 3rd/4th too.

I don't really see why anyone would want to give Pardew the benefit of the doubt. I00% behind Marveaux on this one, sorry. Benefit of the doubt on what? Again Pardew's a dick and probably didn't treat Marv well, but ultimately he just wasn't that great a player. It wasn't some great injustice that he wasn't starting every game like you could say for Ben Arfa, so the whole situation's a bit meh to me.

Agreed, he has other promising attributes but to pretend he's a great finisher at this point in time is silly. Hopefully he bags a hatful this year, but then next year when the chances are fewer and harder will be the real test.

Well yeah but being able to put away those scrappy chances turns an average finisher into a very good one.

He seems the kind of character who doesn't have much of an ego, so if rested won't go nuts. Would be very interested to see who our number 2 captain is. Worthy of a thread? Delighted he's got it though. Think he'll thrive on it and won't collapse in nerves of he makes an early mistake.

Aye I think he'll do well but i don't share the confidence that some on here have for him. Actually that wasn't accurate either which is why I deleted that Apologies. I'll stop now. Hope he does well but find the confidence of some a bit weird. Same goes for the claims that Mitrovic isn't a finisher. He's had one season here when the whole club was in a s*** state. In Premier League, being quite young. Put him in a functional team with a functional manager, and we'll see. He is a great finisher. He didn't show it last season, he was missing some sitters. I don't see how being in a bad team affects your finishing. You get chances, either you put them away or you don't. Pressure, confidence...there's a lot that can play in. He has shown what he really is about in previous seasons. You have to place more of your judgement on full games you've seen though. Can't imagine many of us saw how many/how few chances he missed in Belgium.

Once Pogba goes it should get everyone else's moves going a bit more. Think he'll be a last week of the window signing for someone, can't imagine he's a desperate first choice for the kind of clubs he's linked to to the extent they're not willing to wait to see if the price drops.

Based on his time here, he's not yet a great finisher and it's weird to claim otherwise.

I like him as a player but him going would be best for all inbolved at this point.
