My blinkers arent on about goofy, apart from when he first came hes largely been shite. Mick Lowes and Ando both more or less said he would be nowhere near their team and i agree. I saw very little if anything from him last night to suggest he wants the shirt. Compare the running of his mate on the other side of the wing Ritchie who was a terrier all night. Seriously the bloke is hopeless and has been for years, i want him to surprise me but no, same level last night as under Pardew and co. He won the ball back with a fantastic tackle that lead to the Gayle freekick goal, he got pulled back which lead to the freekick for the 1st goal, played a lovely through ball to Hayden which resulted in us nearly scoring and made some delightful runs and touches in the first half. I watched a lot of Perez and Goofy tonight and the reason was they both stood out for their lack of willingness to press or contribute. Perez has undoubted quality but fuck me the kid didnt look bothered again , toon many times he looks like a wee boy in this league.Poor display. Now Goofy.....another manager gives him a chance, a start out of the blue, youd expect him to grab it, run his heart out, get involved, you know "try to impress" No , nothing, he done nothing to suggest he wanted to give his all for that spot in the team, this was his chance to put some heart if not flair into a game. Absolute shit house of a player. The pair of them were passengers despite the scoreline.

Just back.decent if not spectacular display, still lots to work on but some nuch needed confidence in and off the pitch was gained. The big plus was Ritchie and Shelvey, obvious quality and Hayden sat well and also broke into space a few times, great to see. The defence is dodgy as hell, Goofy was a passenger, Perez again looks lost , Dummett was very very slightly better than Saturday, Anita is better at fullback, Sels cant kick,Gayle worked hard all night. Take that, steady the nerves but by far from convincing at times.
