absolutely. Was nice to see Hanley at the end, he couldn't have looked more delighted if he had scored the winning goal. Good sign.

You've not heard of the Bundesliga club, Ingolstadt? Nope... I should feel embarrassed, shouldn't I?

I liked the look of Kachunga yesterday. Alternated between right and left wing, but nominally a striker. He's on lone from some German side I've never heard of, is 24, and looks like a Benetiz type forward.

After two cracking away wins, and given we're talking about related themes dotted around in a number of other threads, time to dust off this and start a little virtual planning?

It's a fair point, but also worth bearing in mind that psychologists try to help people not ruin their lives by continually ruminating about the past and living as if previously traumatic circumstances have not changed. Which I guess is the key point, if you believe that 'presence of same ownership = nothing has changed' then maybe it is worth having the shine taken off everything, just in case. Personally, I'd rather focus on and enjoy the here and now (apart from occasional bed-wetting type angst; obviously, as it is NUFC) and allow myself some optimism for next season.

Fucking hell man, we only went and won. What a game! -
Me too. Suspect key misses last season and this (which=lost points=negative consequences) mean he has pissed on his own chips/ruined his prospects here.

Impressive. That they're willing to use Greggs of Gosforth I mean.

Trying to talk myself down from some serious arse-twitching (nowt to do with Ian's cock...) anxiety at the mo. Huddersfield and BHA look like they have more fight/resilience than us, but we played well enough/dominated a decent Norwich side so maybe, just maybe a good result will set out our stall before some season defining games for all three teams and calm all our nerves (unless it is just me). -
Ha! Genuine Fraudian slip (...make that two).

Putting the whole 'it is undoubtedly a shithole and the only reasonable sized city nearby is full of fans of your fiercest rivals' thing to one side, alongside more places to spend your cash, the other attraction of London is surely the relative anonymity of being able to disappear into the crowd. Must be a pain, and certainly has been an issue, being constantly in the goalfish bowl of a small football obsessed town or city.

I think the proportion of red to blue still depends to some extent on where you are. There used to more City fans in East and South (apparently) and in the GM boroughs which extend out that way (Tameside, Stockport). Seems more random now, probably to do with the number of kids hooked in to Man U through the glory years and more recently those swept-up by City's renaissance and the great work City in the Community do (free coaching courses and merchandise etc). There are certainly a large number of Manchester based Man Utd fans and more still in the other nine boroughs. I think the standard none in Manchester myth, to extent reflects the large proportion of fans from outside Manchester area who seem to attend Old Trafford (which is in the borough of Trafford, hence the only one team in Manchester banter: both teams actually started out in industrial North Manchester, IIRC).
