Forgetting about the Pardew era (if only) and Carver (can't recall a signing), in the last four windows we've seen: Summer 2015, Wijnaldum, Mitrovic, Mbemba, Toney, Tobin: c£49m Winter 2016: Saivet, Shelvey, Townsend: c£30m Summer 2016: Sels, Gayle, Ritchie, Gamez, Hayden, Hanley, Clark, Diame, Yedlin, Murphy, Lazaar: c£58m Winter 2017: zilch. Summer 2017: Atsu, Lejeune £14.9m so far. I haven't included loan signings etc. So if we're purely using an average 'spend' we should see at least another £25m spent this Summer. Though given the context, and despite the frustrating lack of activity, I'm still expecting another £50m+ to be spent this Summer.
