Express show the following for our transfer business so far. "In Christian Atsu (Chelsea) £6.2m Florian Lejeune (SD Eibar) £8.7m Stefan O'Connor (Arsenal) Free Josef Yarney (Everton) Free Out Florian Thauvin (Marseille) Undisclosed Kevin Mbabu (BSC Young Boys) Undisclosed Matz Sels (Anderlecht) Loan Haris Vuckic (FC Twente) Undisclosed Lubomir Satka (DAC 1904) Free Vurnon Anita (Leeds United) Free Alex Gilliead (Bradford City) Loan " £14.9m spent. I agree that to some extent the amount of further outlay will depend on who we can get shot of, and how much we get, but I expect another £65m. One or two around the £20m mark, a couple in the £5-10m bracket , and any remainder to contribute to one or two loan signings. Wouldn't be surprised to see a free signing or two as well. Do think we will go to the wire though/have late signings, given the likely haggling that will be going on.

Could do with a juicy, at least half true, transfer rumour today.

Jota ('hotta') whilst a risk looks and sounds promising. Left footed right midfielder (Lejeune will know from Eibar). Appears to have cult status at Brentford. But where would he fit in? Cover for for Ritchie? Suspect he fits into Atsu level of quality, rather than any improvement. Hot wife though!

60 days left mate. Keep faith, thinking (hoping?) the true targets aren't necessarily bandied around the media.

Yep. But Manu seems a smashing young man, with a fine hairstyle and impeccable taste in boots. You're not wrong there Ron...

The impact this little fella has had on the footballing world and wider community is really quite profound. Reminded so many people of what truly is important. A man who lost more than most could conceive but instead of being crushed by his experiences used them to help thousands said (amongst many other profound things): 'What is to give light must endure burning' (Victor Frankl). The many people who have been moved by Bradley's short life may, even in a small way, be better for it in the long term, or appreciate more what they have even if only for a short while. When the pain of his family and loved ones subsides, they will surely realise what a special human being they have had the joy to know and what a wonderful impact he has had on the world. Hope Defoe gets a great reception at SJP. He's done a great thing for Bradley and his family and is no doubt paying a heavy emotional price for forming such a strong bond.

Anyone else slightly perturbed by Vurn's open mouth and head position?

Was like a fish out of water?

Yeah, but does that mean they're decent or not?

Love a stats-fest!

Agree with the tedious thing, but noticed recently that in the world of 'football-speak' decent seems to mean everything from:"Bless my eyes I've just seen the next Messi," to "Had an ok game, pulled his weight." Bit like our general use of 'canny', I guess. Contrast: 'He's a canny lad' (meaning great/would give you his last penny) to an answer to: 'How has this discussion of semantics been?' 'Canny, aye.' (Meaning: boring as f***. Sign someone, please!!!).

Ha! Actually thought I was looking at new Spurs stadium . Seems so obvious now...

I'm still reeling. Thought that this was 'Stevie nee Knicks' who had taken over the enticing complementary 'Welcome to Newcastle ride duties' from The Queen of Heaton (terribly busy + on the wane). It turns out it is some gadgie, with theories n s***, who has a scientific understanding of the factors which make a good player... what is the world coming to! -
I take it that this represents a fashion designer's kiss of death

Yep. Like him and he's still only 20. Perhaps we're getting Vardy instead...
-
Well he have a chance to right things against Fulham and Preston, though probably not at fullback, nor possibly against the same players!

Ayoze looks like a man! All grown-up. When did that happen? Rolando, this is the year kidda! I can feel it in my water. (For the third preseason in a row... ?)

Really? You might be right but I'lm expecting an outlay of £70-80m plus a loan or two and a stray freebie. This won't be the net spend, but I am expecting this level of investment by September. Think I'm setting myself up for a fall?

I've come to accept, rightly or wrongly that to a significant proportion of Wearsiders we are like their 'perfect cousin' (or Wor Kevin! Undertones ref for the oldies): "He always beat me at Subbuteo 'cause he flicked the kick And I didn't know!"

Are you 'chaps' (other words spring to kind...) on about Game of thrones? I'm off , like a twat, researching his 'brother'!
