So looking forward to this. Can't recall the last time I went to the match with such a happy, contented, unstressed feeling. We will celebrate achieving promotion, may be slightly muted if we play shite against Barnsley, but we will celebrate promotion nonetheless. We might be celebrating winning our third Championship/First Diviison trophy in a row. Swooping down and knicking the silverware, at the death; channelling our own nickname. Ah man, can you imagine? After all the trials and tribulations of recent times, a last minute against the (recent) odds Championship win. We've won nowt since the Fairs Cup? My feelings in 1993 and 2010, beg to differ. How lovely would it be. Shit like that doesn't happen to us ... does it?

Had to up my vote, given recent events in that other league and the last day excitement in ours.

I feel pleased for him and annoyed in equal measure.

Has anybody acknowledged that Sunderland AFC are Premier League record holders? Well joint record holders, but let's not split hairs... most relegations from PL: 4. Not bad going in 25 years or so.

Just caught up with this and there are great observations and interesting views about what we need to do and how we'll do it. There is a fair bit (above) about putting down foundations and building over a couple of seasons. If accurate, I wonder whether that will steer us towards younger players (on the cusp of excellence). Although this time it won't be driven by potential sell on value, but needs of the squad? Suspect a bit if both myself, a couple of older players (on their way out) complementing the longer term prospects. Also, just chance/happenstance who's available who can they fill a slot in Rafa's system.
