Think the two Joe's is definitely the preferred lineup on the left. I'd imagine first choice next season would be those two, Isak a new RW, Bruno and a new CM. An attacking LB would give that left side a really nice balance too.

Retaken final penalty to win it followed by the worst pitch invasion is a fitting end to that shitshow.

Why do people think Madison can't press based on him playing in a team with a totally different play style to our own? He wouldn't be a target if we didn't think he was capable or had a plan for him. He's been one of the best players in the league for a few years now in a side that should have finished top 4 twice. So the stuff about him being a big fish in a small pond etc is a bit daft too.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

It's daft because whilst it's only a PL award the likely treble is obviously a factor. If they crashed out of the Champions league I reckon it would have went to Eddie. The run they've went on has been massively impressive depsite the talent at his disposal but can't help but feel they'd have made it a lot easier if he wasn't pissing around playing Bernardo Silva in defence and all sorts early on in the season. -
So the one who also got found with indecent images of kids on his computer only got 5 years? Obviously don't know how how big of a role he had in the operation but still seems a bit mental.

Isn't the reason you didn't spend a load on a striker in January as there'd have been none really available and you are clearly going to be going for Kane or someone similar in the summer? We desperately needed at least CM and couldn't get one. We ended up actually getting rid of Shelvey and leaving ourselves even shorter in that position. That's just how January windows can go. It's daft to take only January transfers in isolation and ignore the windows that come either side of it.

I won't be convinced Ashby actually exists until I see him playing for us

Lingard situation was pretty obvious that they were hoping we'd go down and didn't want to help us in anyway stay up. With McTominay they'd probably rather we bought him than a potentially much better alternative. I get the point about how Howe has transformed our current players but it's going to be a boring and long summer on here if that argument is used anytime someone says they aren't impressed by a potential target. If McTominay was on our books already then fair enough, but it's reasonable that folk don't want to spend £30m+ or whatever in a 26 year old who has never really looked like a top 4 player. Ideally you want Longstaff to be the cover for a better player not spending a decent wedge on cover for him.

I always just thought he 'liked' football but wasn't massively into it. He seemed to get gig because he knew how to run a podcast from the technical side back when they were more uncommon and he was mates with the others.

Does anyone find it weird listening to certian podcasters after realising what they look like after building an image of what you thought they would before hand? Finding out David Cartilage (Spanish football journalist who appears on the ramble and a couple others) looks like a Justin Bieber wannabe has totally thrown me off.

Stones basically plays in midfield next to Rodri now anyway and drops back into CB out of possession. Pep might see Rice as a better version of him in that role.

Love Eddie and all the lads. Love everyone on here. What a night!

Fuck it lads, may be tempting fate here but I'm going for a pre game pizza.

Not saying this in this the case here but it's fairly common for fans to turn on their star players once they are heading down and know said players will move onto better things and not face the consequences of the relegation. He's got 10 goals and 10 assists in under 30 games this season for them. They've scored and created more than any side in the bottom half of the table, it's the piss poor defence that will see them relegated.

Banning orders for all fans involved in a mass pitch invasion? Howay man How much are Newcastle fans allowed to celebrate tomorrow if we secure Champions league?

I presumed he meant Chelsea's performance this season?

Ref must be one of the posters on here who thinks this is a guaranteed win for Liverpool.

I think it's more of a case that it's a really bad matchup for us. Night time game, crowd will be well up for it which would usually help but could actually play into their hands if we come out too aggressive. Games like the Spurs one or Man U where we came out flying and suffocated them and exposed their weaknesses is a lot different. Pep changed his approach against Arsenal to pretty much play like Brighton against them and both teams comfortably beat them. Our biggest strength in terms of being physical, aggressive looking to press and win the ball high up the pitch is exactly what they want. Villa was another bad matchup for us. They aren't better than us either but we got destroyed that game. Not saying the same thing will happen here but it is a tough fixture for us.

I guess the change in system and success? We used to rely on him under Bruce, we barely picked up any points without him he was pretty much a one man show in a tactic less side. Now we are well drilled and successful and play as a unit. His flaws are a lot more noticeable and we rely less on his individual brilliance. When you are down the bottom you can afford the star player a run in the side to get sharp and back to his best but it's a lot harder when you're fighting for a champions league spot. Feel for him as he's trying to adapt and putting in effort but it's hard when he's constantly injured or unfit and having to make up for it in short cameos.

I think the Longstaff injury has been the biggest factor. Unable to play the two Joe's down that left side with him missing which I think he would have went with in both games if he could. Isak on the left with Wilson through the middle probably was the right call over ASM or Gordon starting. The midfield balance and lack of cover there is what's killing us really. -
Love how Leicester are fighting for survival so it's going to be a hard game now yet it's somehow seen as a guaranteed win for Liverpool
