It's nice but the badge gets a bit lost in it.

It's a joke that we can't even afford James Maddison wages yet Arsenal can go and spend £200m + already this summer and still have room to bring in a few others. De gea is on nearly £400k per week at Man United ffs. Even finishing in champions league spots we are still at a massive disadvantage compared to Spurs and Chelsea who we finished above, how are other teams supposed to become even remotely competitive? All that's happening is the gap is getting bigger and bigger between the top and everyone else.

I think Kante drives a £10k car or something and Sadio Mane uses an iPhone with a smashed screen as he says it's a waste of money buying a new one. I think for a lot of the African/Muslim players they are targeting it's not about having more money to blow on things for themselves but more what they could do with it for others. I think it is a bit sad to see players playing in a league way below their standard purely for money but at the same time we've just went and took one of the best players in the league from Milan to play for us because of Saudi money too. I know it not the same thing but most European sides now are just feeder clubs for the premier League or Barca/Bayern/Real/PSG.

In terms of FFP selling someone one like Maxi for 30/40m would be huge wouldn't it? As all of that is recorded as profit for the year minus whatever 'value' he has left.

Not sure how true If Spurs keep Kane and can sort their defence out I could see them having a good season with no European football either. I hope it's not the case but a lot of people in here could look quite daft with how much they are writing them off. Top 8 is going to be seriously competitive next season.

Pretty sure he's top in the league for interceptions and interceptions and ball carries combined. Think he's known as a DM but he's a lot more than that really. He's one of the few midfielders that have bossed a game against us when they came up here last season. It's an expensive fee but with his age and he's pretty much a guaranteed success I think it's a great signing for them. Much better than Caecido would be at £70m.
-
He's probably better suited to Spurs if they are going to a 4231 than he would have been as a RW for us. We'll possibly have to pay more for a riskier option but think it will be someone who fits more into the profile of the rest of the midfield/attack being fast or physical.

Don't think you find a better attacking midfielder for under £40m this summer. We obviously have our reasons for not going for him but that's a great deal for Spurs. Hopefully Kane fucks off to Bayern and they struggle next season though.

Probably get delivered quicker than if you ordered from Castore

Love people getting offended that he doesn't want to play in the champions league and hates the North East when we've not even been in for him

Players going to zoos is one thing but Eddie won't stand for signing players who have kids out of wedlock I'm sure of that.
-
He may well ease him in purely down to the difficult start to the season.

I'd imagine it's pretty rare to have two left footed CBs as most left footed ones tend to play on the left. There's loads of right footed CBs that only play on the left too though. Terry was one, VVD now is the same. So two right footed ones will be alot more common but id say it's pretty common to have a 'left sided' CB in those partnerships just not necessarily left footed.

Leicester had a defence and keeper chucking them in their own net. I don't know how people try and point any of the blame at Maddison
-
I don't think that's right. Chelsea extended Fernandez contract just a month or two back after signing him in January to spread it out further.

100m signing on a 1 year deal is 100m in terms of FFP on the books for that year. 100m signing on a 10 year deal is 10m each year on the books. Doesn't make a difference how the deal is structured or when the money changes hands. In terms of how the budget is referred to it's always in terms of what the player cost. So Tonali will be classed as 60m of the 'budget' not 10m because it's over a 6 year deal. Otherwise a £75m.budget could get us a team of superstars

City could sell Bernardo, Walker, Cancelo and Phillips this summer for decent change you'd imagine. We will struggle as long as we have nobody we can offload for decent fees as we aren't getting any money coming in like other clubs are.
-
The Milan ultras will have a hit out on Ashworth before long.
-
Not been following it that closely but could Arsenal not have bought him if they weren't pissing around over the fee? City did also sell Arsenal two players for decent prices that helped turn them into a rival for the title. I do get your point but from a selfish POV it's better for us I think. He'd improve Arsenal a lot more than he would City.
-
I think what's really exciting is in a time where midfielders are usually clearly more attacking or defensive players we've managed to find two in Bruno and Tonali who can do it all. We are kind of going against the norm for a 3 man midfield that usually always deploy a destroyer type in the middle that's pretty rigid positionally.

If we get Maddison we'd legit have three of the best set piece takers in Europe in one side.

I reckon everything under Pep is intense as fuck Sure Dani Alves said something like if Pep asked him to jump of the Nou Camp he would and assume there was a good reason for it, by the time he left he said he wanted to throw Pep of the Nou Camp.
