  1. He's going to be quieter in games away from home when he's the anchor against strong opposition where we have less of the ball and he has to be alot more displicined positionally. He'd be much better off as an 8 in these sort of games. Against the weaker sides playing deep he has a lot more freedom to roam around influence things. He was too restricted today but still did ok overall I thought.
  2. Depth mainly for me. We don't really have any game changers from the bench and usually we look much worse when we have to make any substitutes. Given our high energy style of play and how congested this season is we will pick up injuries and need to freshen things up in games and I reckon over the course of the season we'll end up picking up a fair few draws instead of potential wins.
  3. We dealt with them fairly easily for the most part despite them being at pretty much full strength and us ending the game with half a championship side. We probably played below par as well today so it's actually quite encouraging overall. A couple of transfer windows away from being a genuine threat to the top 6 I think. Think we'll beat these lot in the reverse fixture.
  4. Quite lucky Anthony is shite with Burn like this.
  5. Looks like it could be a terrible day for the premier League.
  6. I think we'll do them if Bruno plays. They still don't look a good team to me, just a collection of really talented players.
  7. I like Keane on punditry but he's never going to offer any really deep insight. The likes of Carragher and Neville spend all day rewtaching games and videos, looking at stats preparing for Monday night football. I don't think Keane was being harsh on Bruno but the praise seemed pretty generic, just came across that he's probably not watched him much other than highlights. You will rarely ever hear him talking about specifics with players like that. Think he just turns up and reacts to what he sees, he won't go out of his way to prepare or research much and just views it as an easy gig. Shearer was the same for the first few years he was doing it.
  8. Tomori has been bobbins everytime I've seen them play this season.
  9. Lampard has made Everton difficult to beat. They look quite solid defensively and the midfield three looks well balanced and athletic. Converting Iwobi and getting those performances out of him has been quite impressive I think. Front 3 is quite weak but it's a solid foundation to build on. They aren't a hoofball team like Dyche I don't think. Both the goals the conceded against Man U was them trying to play through them and getting caught in possession. Gerrard always seemed like a player that didn't really like tactics, pretty sure he said Rafa made him a better all round player but he hated that side of the game under him. Having to work on systems, positioning and tactics. Because he could win a game from playing a 50 yard inch perfect pass into Torres or bang one in from 30 yards when they needed a winner it seems like he's expecting players he's managing to be able to do the same and then being frustrated they aren't. Seems to have a a lot of the same traits as Roy Keane does which doesn't usually translate into a good manager.
  10. Where can he even go now? Can't see Madrid going back for him now they've spent the money they saved for him and he massively pissed them off with how he acted.
  11. Aye Madrid are actually quite sensible with their spending these days. Certainly don't think they could cough up an offer we couldn't refuse for him. Much more likely he signs a new contract than leaves anytime soon. It's not the Ashley days of actively trying to sell our best players. We are only going to be interested in adding more.
  12. We've picked up more than these lot over the last 38 games. Nowt to be scared about, although it wil be a tough game.
  13. Can we appeal that decision to allow McTominay to play against us?
  14. Had a look on and there's talk about Newcastle players being on inhalers now
  15. We've been due of those scorelines at home, like. Easy to say we were gifted a couple of goals but that's a result of our intensity and pressing. The energy was absolutely relentless today, looked like we were playing with an extra man out there.
  16. Deserved that. He's pressed and ran like a maniac today.
  17. He'd walk into any team in the league other than City.
