  1. I'm not overly worried about his performance yesterday, he had 2 days with his teammates. If it carries on into game after game then yeah, but he needs a bit time to settle in, time I'm aware we don't have.
  2. Apologises as my post should have said, 'i can understand why he hasn't' You're not wrong either, organised we haven't been. But his defensive record at Bournemouth was atrocious, it was about goals scoring, that's not going to work with us, especially with our lack any forward attacking plans over the last few seasons.
  3. That is something i totally agree with, and it does look grim. But with a couple more buys in the right areas, and only a couple of points adrift, well there's a chance we can stay up imo. I wouldn't say I'm optimistic, just not defeated would be the better phrase.
  4. We have a squad of players put together to achieve the minimum, It's ingrained in the players and was in the club. The club you can snap out of it immediately as we've seen, the players on the other hand, not a chance. We bought average players to be an average team, chucked in a couple of sparks like ASM to do the little bits of magic now and again. That's a culture, a long term culture that's festered away for years. I don't disagree Howe should have done better, but i can understand why he hasn't.
  5. We need to strengthen the spine, CM and CB will be the only way out of the mess for me. And if we don't we're done, and as you say it's between us, Watford along with Norwich and Burnley for the 3 places. I suppose someone else might get dragged in, can't see myself though.
  6. I think i said this before, we have a very very poor squad, in fact we're a terrible team. I think most of us know it, and we need better players obviously. Of the two we've bought so far, I'd say we've upgraded at right back. Striker wise, we've added a body which we needed, rather than the quality we ultimately wanted imo.
  7. I will clarify the rookie stance. I do think they should have done better, especially in regard to having a D.O.F (or whatever their title will be) in place for the window. I just understand (well trying to) that football is a different beast to what they're used to. We saw it with Ashley, he thought, spend a bit of money (at first) you should be winning everything. As we all know it's more complicated, and that buffoon couldn't adjust to it and we suffered as a consequence. I think they know what they're up against and will get it right in the end, but errors will happen on the way unfortunately, as we're seeing. Also, i do laugh when i see comments such as 'we haven't done much this window so far' That's laughable, we signed two players for around £40m (overpaid for Wood imo). Have multiple bids in all over the place, most of them near and over the £30m mark. Yeah we're finding it hard to get players in who we really need, but that's the window in the winter, and it's only the 17th January for FFS
  8. He's disappointed and impatient and i get that but, after all the shite we've been through over the last 15 years, i would have thought people might have been a little bit more calm headed. As grim as it seems right now, we're in a infinitely better position than we've been for a long long while. I'm patient and am willing to give the owners the time to get it right, as they will make mistakes. Every owner does, and ours are absolute rookies when it comes to owning a football club.
  9. We are literally only two points, two points from safety I grant you it doesn't look good, but we're obviously going to buy more players. A certainty it certainly isn't.
  10. I guess he's an experienced striker, something we need right now. A proper centre forward if you will. Personally i think he's too expensive, but as a short term-ish gap fill to keeps us up, not too displeased.
  11. I rather liked our last player called Hugo.
  12. That's also a team where a manager is taking the cup seriously.
  13. I would think the strongest possible side picked to give a them boost of a nice win. Where we've only won the one game this season, we haven't had the confidence that wins bring. I realise this could backfire if we play shite, but the thought process is good.
  14. FFS don't encourage him, I mean it will just reinforce the fact we demand the earth after winning fuck all for 55 years
  15. It's amazing to see us bid on 1st Jan, and not 29th as we scramble to find a player for fuck all after not bothering for the rest of the month. I suppose seeing the club running properly will take some time to get used to.
  16. Yep, buying (if we did) in the last two days of the window like a moron thinking we'll get bargains by waiting.

    Joelinton

    Outstanding, utterly outstanding
  18. He is, but i don't see why he couldn't play full back too. Kids electric, pace, recovery and getting forward brilliantly. Unfortunately he's just a signing we wouldn't get right now, maybe in a couple of years like Rac just said.
  19. Yeah that's fair, tbf another bonus with Trippier is dead ball delivery.
  20. Well yeah, rather that than £25m for Trippier imo. That's not to say i would turn Trippier down. Just a personal preference, on age, price and the future.
  21. I'd rather buy the lad from Brighton, not that they would sell probably.
  22. That's part of it mind, our players are terrible. Brainless as hell a lot of the time.
