Are you for real with this argument? The striker you want is 60+ mil striker. Good luck with that. I think that bigger issue is that Mitrovic doesn't want to play for us again. Where have I said that I want a £60M striker? I’d love to cash in on Mitro and get an upgrade on him; he’s got too many basic flaws for me and if (big if) Rafa was given up to £30M to spend on a striker I’d love to see who he comes up with to suit his plans. Might as well have just put 'won't get' tbh. With prices they are now we have no chance of signing a better striker, not while Ashley is in control of the money.

I like to agree but the sending off against Tottenham was dumb, and the West Ham one was as pointless an elbow as you could ever see. I used mad as it's term used by both his supporters and detractors. Personally i think he's fine now, he might still do the odd daft thing but i see a lad growing up a bit, still want him stay like.

I agree. When did Merino get his back injury? Before that he was unreal, looked really classy. We'll probably baulk at that and improve our bid to €11.25m. Think he got injured around October time, he never really got back in after that, tbf he was out for ages and Diame and Shelvey were superb for the last 3 or so months of the season. I remember him coming off the bench against Man City at home when we were putting pressure on them towards the end, he looked great then and after the game finished I thought he should've came on earlier. It's a shame, like. And like you, I don't want him to go. I think whilst Sturaro may or may not be a good signing our CMs are fine as they are. Assuming Diame can keep up his form. I say buy Sturaro and keep Merino and have good bit of competition for places, as funky as that sounds. I know it's a bit better now with Rafa's persuasion but Ashley really doesn't get why you need a squad and not the 11 purple bollocks Llambias came out with. He'll never see it imo, mainly because he doesn't want to and couldn't care less.

I hate thinking this as i really like Merino but as is the usual way of things with our tight fat bastard owner, i reckon it's Merino out so Sturaro can come in.
