If Ashley sticks to his way of buying then Rafa's a gonna, end of next season at the latest imo. Rafa wants to buy players to win things no matter their age, along with paying sometimes over the odds and a bit more in wages. Their age/price/wages aren't as important as winning trophies and building the club to compete with the best in the league for Rafa. (And i don't mean going in with ridiculous prices/wages on older players, just sensible stuff) If Ashley sticks to the buy to sell on model then we're fucked, too far away from the manager wants to achieve.
