  3. He didn't start many, obviously because he's suspended for the first 4 games and Rafa was going with the starting line ups aimed toward Fulham. So not that much game time for him. Gayle only scored two i think and he played much more, doesn't mean much to be honest.
  4. I also have faith in Rafa but he has in the past made mistakes in transfers, but show me a manager who hasn't....also. Djimi traore has a Champions League winners medal Rafa knows what he's doing.
  5. It looks like Rafa has faith in young Sterry at left back and will use Dummet and Clark as cover Not really, Sterry has been at right back and to my knowledge not played left back once in pre season. Its been Anita or Jesus at left back if Dummet wasn't available. Rafa does seem to like Sterry but it looks like as Janmaats cover. Be nice to see the lad play quite a bit this season, hopefully.

    Alternate weekend perv, brilliant.
  7. He got a knock to, or went over on his ankle it looked like, seemed in quite a bit of pain. Miles Starforth Retweeted Ross Gregory ‏@rossgregory9 11h Janmaat limps out of training after being clattered by Tiote! Tiote, even in training
  8. He got a knock to or went over on his ankle, chopped down by Tiote the mad bastard, seemed in quite a bit of pain.
  9. We're assembling a squad, a squad with numbers with cover and everything, in multiple positions, signing players before we sell... Fuck it, don't believe any of it, must be off me nut.
  10. In the championship probably not. We're going to be the big fish here so it's more likely the onus will be on us to break teams down who are sitting deep. I hope we're also looking to bring in someone with a bit of creativity in the middle. Leicester just won the top league without one, personally i'm sick of seeing DM/AM needed etc, why can't it just be a central midfielder who does the lot, like Leicesters two did.
  11. Unlikely to have been in the Diame thread you massive Gimp.
  12. Mentions of £3m release clause, but that's not definite. £3m, get the fuck outta here £3m's becoming the new hundreds of billions in terms of notorious N-O numbers. If it does turn out to be the figure it's a mental one in todays mad money. We're still in profit on transfers as well i think
  13. Mentions of £3m release clause, but that's not definite.
  14. Ritchie, Hayden, Diame, the pursuit of Knockaert all players promoted and/or know how to get to the top of the Championship. Not exactly rocket surgery but good stuff.
  15. I remember him giving us all sorts of problems in a home game, might have been for West Ham, he was running at us with pace and directness and we couldn't deal with him.
  16. That's just ex player forrin bollocks. Even when you play at the lowest level, man marking the best header stops his momentum, i'm not big but i always mark one of the best headers, i have good leap but i try to stop my man getting a clear run and header and that's how it should work. A player does the Shearer position zonally marking the near post (not on the post, 5 or so yards in front of it), someone always around the penalty spot/edge of the area. Our team Saturday team uses both, we have someone doing the Shearer position and the penalty spot, we don't have anyone on the back post as we have one zonal marker in the middle of the 6 yard box, if the ball is clearing him, his job is to then get on the far post. Then you mark the bigger players man for man. For me that's the best, a mix of both.
  17. That's exactly how it should be, a mix of both.
  18. Not for me, you can pick out certain times when either are better, any said game will show one to be better than another. Call me old school but if marking a player is my job, that's my job, zonal is much more vunerable imo. Although man to man is too if your players are not good either to be fair, hence why you buy better ones. I think a mix of man to man and zonal is far better and i think Rafa did a bit of that last season.
  19. The guy seemed disinterested all game. All i know is, he's a poor defender, he simply doesn't sniff danger and plays like a attacking wing back than a defensive right back. In todays game i know you have to do both but he's so poor on the part he should be best at.
  20. Zonal marking an all, it was how Liverpool under Rafa were vunerable at set pieces. Not a fan of zonal me, zonal marking is too static and opposition players a have a run on you. Much prefer a bit of both, Shearer used to stand on the edge of the 6 yard box and head away bucket loads of corners.
  21. Janmaat's header for their second goal I know i'll head this....hmmmm let me think....i know my own penalty spot. You're a defender you lovely haired fuckwit.
  22. Fuck him. He's a monumental idiot for going there and deserves his career ruined choosing to play for a fraud like pards when he could've been learning from a proven winner like Benitez. Absolutely no mercy
  23. Working on deals was the main thing he said for me, suddenly i seem to love waiting on transfers.
