Think we all need to remember this new to Eddie as well, being near the top, challenging in multiple competitions, travelling around Europe. He'll be learning about himself and where he's made mistakes and should have done things a bit differently. If he's as good as i think and hope he's going to be as a top tier manager, he'll be taking it in and making those adjustments to put things right. Liverpool with a much stronger team should have lost to Luton last week, no match is a given in this league. These are just small bumps in the road on our journey.

I think we have to temper where we are now to where were expecting to be. We've exceeded all expectations, imo this was the season we would have being pushing for Europe, not playing in the Champions League and chasing qualification for that again. We haven't really built the squad to cope in the way a slower build would have, we're trying to do it with one hand tied behind our back in some respects with FFP. Not losing will be great result for me, especially with our injuries. A win will be a superb result after we played away in Europe midweek and they didn't have a game.

I think that where refs are now using VAR to confirm it, rather than judge the tackle on it's merits if they're not quite 100% sure, it can be upgraded with VARS help after they've had a look.

It's simple really, there doesn't need to be contact for a challenge to be regarded as careless, reckless or with excessive force. The fact there is contact despite it not being as dangerous as it could have been, it should still have been a red card. I don't think you can see that tackle and think anything else really.
