All about the £££. Managers dont walk away these days when theres a pay off to be had. Does anyone I wouldn't Nor would i if i was him. After the way he's performed here and his past couple of jobs, I don't think clubs will be queing up for him.

Decent manager takes us from 100% certain to 50/50 I reckon, still has the same s**** to work with and not much time. Sunderland Norwich Swansea Palace Villa There's 5 games straight away that a decent manager could get us victories in and quite possibly keep us up in doing so. It's nowhere near impossible for us to stay up when you look at our remaining games but I think it is if you leave McClaren in charge.

Howe has worked wonders at Bournemouth which makes it all the more surprising that he didn't do it at Burnley.
-
Be sending JFK to do his talking for him. Has contacts all over the world that bloke.

It's sensible to have someone already lined up before sacking. No need to be in a hurry now and then panic for the next 2-3 weeks to appoint someone. They should of got rid of him during the 18 day break and that would of been sufficient time to at least appoint someone and give them a week or so getting to know the team, etc before Bournemouth. Even after saturday, I would hope that they've already sounded out the likes of Moyes, Rodgers, etc to see who, if any, were interested in the job if they are planning on sacking him.
-
Absolutely no chance he's getting sacked now then.
-
Any minute now before they release the 'we have full confidence in Steve to turn things around and keep us up' statement.
-
Bless their fans jumping around like absolute lunatics in the concourse on Saturday as if they were challenging for europe whilst singing about not sacking SMc. Not as if they're only a point ahead of us.
-
Incredible that not one person in the media thought to check he was driving, or at least inside the car, before sending out those reports.

Stan Collymore was on TalkSport last night saying that the likes of Shearer, Carragher, etc are cheating young fans by saying it was a penalty on Sunday and daring them to ring up and try to argue with him. Made me enjoy the decision even more when you know its got female beating c***s like him so wound up.

Should we really be talking about the mackem slayer like that[emoji102]

Arrived at the training ground but went through a back door entrance? Don't think that sort of thing has happened since Darren Ambrose played for us... In a more serious post, and I know I have the potential of being ripped apart for saying it as I would never, ever, ever have him back, but is it wrong to say that I had more faith in Pardew keeping us up when we were in this sort of position then what i did/do under Carver and McClaren? I didn't ever think that would be possible after that utter c**k left.
-
Can't see them sacking him and then leaving them 2 in charge. That would be a carbon copy of last season when Pardew left but we let his coaching team takeover and look how that went. If, and its a big if, he is sacked tomorrow, I would hope a new manager to be appointed by the weekend.
-
The only one who offered any effort on saturday, to the extent where he could of been sent off twice from what I recall.
-
Time are we announcing Beardsley as the new head coach then?
-
After reading what's been said today, if he's not gone by this time tomorrow he's not going anywhere. Except, that is, the championship with us next season. Have to agree with you there, although just yesterday, we were hearing that he was going to be sacked today. It appears its a 2 horse race out of Rodgers and Moyes if we do get rid.
-
If this bloke survives the next 48 hours then I give up all hope of him f*****g off.
-
Bang on that article. Shearer has absolutely nailed it.

Club fell apart as soon as Chris Moat walked through the exit door.

That's rubbish, for a start. We just tend to hire British yes men. Name one British manager who is currently active in club football that wouldn't be a "yes man" for Mike Ashley? Gary Neville He's currently working for a Mike Ashley type owner He is but he knows him personally and his brother was already at the club. Not to mention that Valencia is a far more attractive project then us. Id also say that now he's experienced what management is truly about, he would have no interest in joining this joke of a club with the constraints he'd be under.
