Merino has been good today.
-
Home fans are getting frustrated. Bit more bite about us today. Whatever happens with the result, it’s more than we showed the last game.
-
right Read my post again. As a captain I’m saying that he could have told his home truths a few weeks ago. As a player he’s not the finished article yet.. but plenty of years to improve. But as far as being a good captain goes.. he needs to step up the plate now.
-
Well this is his team for the last two years. This slip into absolute garbage has happened on his watch. Whether he was injured or not, he could have told his “home truths” weeks ago. I think this will define him as a captain. If he can get this group of players to colllect a few points before the cavalry gets here it will be some achievement. People talking about his ability are idiots. He’s a kid still pretty much with a heavy weight on those shoulders. He will become better with age so ease up on him.

If there’s an agreement in place.. which there is, it really doesn’t matter when the deal is concluded. Ashley will back Rafa with a guarantee from PCP.. We'll have money to spend. The 30m figure was probably put out there so clubs don’t get carried away with their valuations. We might have 80 million to spend, but that’s not much anymore. Considering how poor our squad is..
-
Ever since the takeover talk set in, these players look shell shocked. He could have done more to get their minds back on the job but they seem elsewhere at the moment.
-
He's had far too long at this club. Swansea supporters were right about him.. we knew they were when we signed him. Totally overrated. Never imposes himself on a game. I think his sending off was harsh mind but not surprised, all he has to do is just "be there" and he'll get a card. Should be one of the first out the door in January
-
He's not but the players have been going through the motions for weeks.. I said it before but most of these in the squad will be looking for a new club either next month or during the summer. They don't give a rats arse. He's probably been more preoccupied with who's coming in than keeping the existing squad on point. He also tells it straight.. if any player asked him about what would be happening to them, he's probably told them there's not much of a future for them.
-
I agree with you, he had 2 fouls in the game and 2 yellow cards. But the issue is that everyone fucking knows his cards are marked.. I actually don't give a fuck about the cards as i'm more annoyed at his general contribution today. Just saunters around like we're 4 goals up.. shite attitude. It's really Rafa's fault for picking him.. any manager should know he's liable to be sent off for no reason in any match.. referees just don't like him.. same as Joey Barton minus the personality.
-
The total lack of urgency from Shelvey is a disgrace. Just sauntering around like a fucking passenger. Takeover or not. He has to be moved on in January.
-
Only TCA would run down the clock from 65 minutes. Everton really deserve this cunt.
-
Everton are gash. But we’re far far worse. No cohesion whatsoever in the team. Let’s hope Aaron’s can do something which will likely be his swan song with the club.. nowhere else a goal will be coming from
-
The midfield pairing isn’t working. Diame isn’t working. Bring Ayoze on for Diame and play 5 across the middle. Let Ritchie and Atsu go forward when we have it. At least Perez can control the ball and play simple passes.
-
Awful from Darlow. If he spent as much time practicing goalkeeping if he did doing his hair..
-
Quite excited to find out the ins and outs of the deal. Like who’s backing her?!

Wrong thread. It’s not a loan deal so I think it’s very relevant to this thread. For what it’s worth I think this is a done deal now.. the curry house thing was how Mike Ashley would insist on a deal being wrapped up. The players we’ve been linked with seem to suggest that the agents are expecting we'll have a wad of cash to spend too. The process of applying to the FA for it’s fit and proper has probably begun. It’s not like they’re going to be live tweeting about it. They have a budget in place, good players lined up and they won’t be hanging around to sign them. No other way Rafa would be so calm throughout the current run we’re having.. the shoddy players probably know their days are numbered which has probably added to the dip in form. You got all that from some dude spouting stuff because he has a box at Chelsea? Are all box-dwellers at Stamford bridge privy to transfer proceedings or just that particular box? Just this particular guy, his kids go to the same private school as some of the kids of the players/coaching staff.

Based on me being a total sceptic about it until I’d seen enough to believe it was happening?
-
It’s definitely happened already. As ever we'll just be the last to know about it. My guess is it will be announced just after xmas. Then the start of January will be a rollercoaster. And it makes total sense when you think about the dip in form. LeJeune looked like the man about town when we signed him over the summer. He’s now thinking.. f*** I’ve moved here and won’t be getting a game after January. His confidence is shot. Same for Manquillo, Hayden, Ritchie, Joselu, Ayoze, Clarke, Mitro.. all the goalkeepers... even Shelvey could be off. None of these players will go on to better clubs so no wonder the team is playing so badly. I’d wager that we’ll be in for Samaris first to shore things up in the middle.. the rest I haven’t the foggiest about. Footballers in general tend to think very highly of themselves. I highly doubt they'd be all "Well, that's me f***ed" more than "I'll f***ing show these c***s who's boss" Don’t be daft. They’re fragile little snowflakes for the most part trying to deal with their troubles with about half the brain cells of most normal men.

Someone I know very well who’s got a corporate box at Chelsea seems to think Batshuayi is all agreed to come here in January.
-
We’re you watching the same game? Perez was trotting back not paying any attention to what was going on around him.. he started racing back after he gave him 15 yards head start. I think anyone going to start criticising individual players is missing the point though.. the team has been coached poorly the last while. Our system has been found out and we haven’t even tried to adapt. It seems like Rafa has written off between now and January. It’s s very dangerous game to be playing.. He should have been shutting shop when we got to 2-2.. every point right now is precious.
-
Toothless in midfield.. it’s embarrassing how soft we are. Nobody willing to put in a tackle and get stuck in. Merino has been poor today in protecting the back 4.. Hayden has been invisible. Despite getting back to 2-2, Leicester we’re comfortable all through the game. Passing it right through the middle because they knew nobody would tackle them. Rafa got it wrong today, again. Everything we were doing right at the start of the season we’ve stopped doing. We’re not playing as a hard to beat compact unit any more.. we’re shipping 2, 3, 4 goals a game.. Even with a takeover, and some serious investment.. there’s no guarantee that will pick this bunch of players up now. The total lack of confidence that this squad has could rub off on any player coming in.

Very. Although this is the first piece of news which has any sort of proof whatsoever that this is happening. It's very positive news, all looks very relaxed. My take on this would be that maybe over the last few weeks the deal has been on the verge of collapse and the whole fist pumping on the way out means that everyone is now back at the table. Probably a lot of work to do before a deal ever takes place. But this could possibly indicate that PCP, or Staveley or whoever is behind the deal doesn't have nearly as much cash as we or Rafa would want to seriously make a massive impact. Maybe this group are going to be part investors alongside Ashley? (Until they have the cash to buy him out completely)
-
Or that it was just one big clickbait targeted towards Odin. They need to try a bit harder! I have no idea what’s going on other than I saw her attend a game against Liverpool. I want Ashley gone but getting excited about this and then it not work out for whatever reason would be a very hard pill to swallow. I think we’re too quick to believe these reports. We want to believe them.. I’m not saying every journalist is a liar but the papers earn revenue from advertising, the more clicks the higher the revenue. So what’s going to bring people to their website? It’s an obvious answer so that should really mean the answer to whether this takeover is happening at all is highly questionable.
