Nah we absolutely weren’t mostly shit that season at all. What a mad thing to say. Pardew only had us playing consistently well across one season (2011-2012), but by and large, we played some good stuff and the pragmatic system we employed really leant into the strengths of our starting 11.

Completely agree. They need to effectively entrust it to a single figure who is absolutely all-in and across the entire piece, similar to Khaldoon Al Mubarak at Man City or Nasser Al-Khelaifi for PSG.

Great post and I would argue it's a major reason why we've conceded so many late goals. The character issue was at its most acute (imo) in that second half against Barcelona, the way we conceded those goals was absolutely mortifying. You could clearly see how their heads dropped and they were just shellshocked.

Think this has ran its course, the coaching and management team needs fresh ideas and impetus. I don’t think that will come from Howe sadly.
