  1. Bayern Munich can I offer you an Elanga in this trying time?
  2. No massive benefit to us closing the deal so early imo, there will be a few clubs in for him over the course of the window.
  3. Feel like we can draw this out a while yet to get a bidding war going, so I’d hope Barca are paying a big enough fee if this is getting closed already.
  4. It all went downhill when he started wearing a headband.
  5. I think there's enough teams in for him that we can get £70m guaranteed with more in add-ons.
  6. Not really arsed about this particular case and it’s quite funny it’s happening to Chelsea, but whatever happened to the rules around ‘tapping up’ players? Feels like it’s just not a thing now.
  7. Difficult to believe Alonso would sign on if there were no funds available to reshape the squad.
  8. I don't know why I bother with listening, but goodness me his self-deprecating routine on Pod on the Tyne after another pathetic performance on the weekend is infuriating.
  9. He’s a proper Moyes Everton signing, a limited player on big wages.
  10. The NUFC Athletic reporters are a bunch of flannels. I would unsubscribe from the platform, but the journalism elsewhere on there is really decent, particularly on world football coverage. The Newcastle beat desperately needs someone more detached from the club and wider city imo. Waugh and Caulkin are just incapable of providing a thorough, ruthless dissection of everything that’s gone wrong, even if I do think the latter is a great writer.
  11. They're asking about Hall too apparently, but that's a link he's reported on for a few months now.
  12. Not sure if that Simon Phillips is reliable for Chelsea or not. His substack which this is based on says we’ve asked about Delap and Acheampong.
  13. I would look to actively sell Joelinton, but easier said than done because I don't think there's really a market for him. If Howe is going to play with the same philosophy then we are absolutely desperate for a disciplined defensive mid to sit in front of the defence and protect that central space. It's been a problem for years at this point.
  14. Very odd link that to Savinho, I presume the groundwork of a deal was done by Spurs last summer when they almost signed him. So if they’re engaged in talks again, not really sure why we’d be there.
  15. Genuinely don’t think there’ll be a market for him this summer for the price we’d want (presumably £40m).
  16. The three coming up will be nowhere near competitive imo. If Howe is in charge next season, I can see us being lower mid-table mind.
  17. That Rayan line is pure shite imo, don’t believe it for a second.
  18. The home game massively soured my feelings about this current squad and management tbh. I fundamentally don’t think they ‘get it’ when it comes to these games. The level of passiveness and lack of bottle in that second half is something that’s stuck with me. That’s not to mention the absolutely nothing performance at their place as well.
  19. Just a few weeks ago, loads of Bournemouth fans stated they wouldn’t take him back when Iraola announced he was leaving. Football and fans move on quick.
  20. Yep my long-held belief is that Everton is where he’ll end up when he’s sacked here & Moyes goes. A big club no doubt, but never bought into the position that the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool etc would be interested.
  21. Don’t think we’ll be anywhere near the champions league places next season tbh, so the whole ‘will Howe be good enough again to balance competitions’ is a moot point for me.
  22. Results are what matters at the end of the day, don’t see any point in underestimating them. I can’t be arsed to check the stats, but guessing Chelsea had more of the ball, XG etc. but you just knew Sunderland would win, because they have the character (that Chelsea don’t) in their team to get them through and that can often be the decisive difference.
  23. They also have the built-in revenues at their clubs to shrug off any poor buys one season and go again the next. We don’t have the same luxury.
