My bigger concern is will we actually be ruthless enough in the summer and get rid of the players we need to in order to progress? -
Real brittleness about this team away from home this season. They can’t seem to cope.

Cucurella is pathetic

Dan Ashworth (no longer working for Manchester United)

ÂŁ2m is a derisory offer. -
Pioli’s record against Inter is absolutely tragic mind. As a coach he’s lost the most matches in the history of the Milan derby in all competitions: nine defeats, all in charge of Milan. Milan have won only three of the last 14 matches against Inter.

Grealish has won his trophies so I doubt he cares, but he never seemed to truly align with City’s ethos and playing style. He has a rugged, individualistic aspect to his game, which defines and separates him from other players. I don’t think the management nor culture of modern-day Manchester City is the destination for that type of player. Perhaps somewhere like Man United, Liverpool or Chelsea would have been more exciting, if not necessarily more fruitful in terms of honours won.

Was reading through the recent Q&A session with NUFC journalists on The Athletic and there still doesn’t appear to be any movement on a new training facility. The refurbishment of Benton apparently has us up to “bottom-half PL level”, but no further developments seem to be happening. Appreciate these are long-term, complex infrastructure projects, however I was hoping for more progress on definite plans at this stage and it’s a bit of a disappointment that we’re not further ahead on it. Seems like (to an external observer) the wider infrastructure projects have stalled somewhat - St James expansion feasibility study outcome, NUFC academy, NUFC women’s facilities etc.

Wilson to Gerrard’s Saudi team would be the best-case scenario. Confident they’d stump up £15m or so.

What absolutely scrumptious Barclays results this weekend.

Gibbs-White is a player we’d have to pay a premium price for, but honestly I think he’d be worth it. He’d be incredible under Howe.

What other players would we be looking to move on? Almiron, Wilson, Targett, Dubravka, Krafth, Murphy and perhaps Willock?
-
Was really impressed with that Laimer for Bayern last night. Sane is such a joy to watch when he’s on form as well.
-
Trying to think of replacements - Nico Williams, Bowen, Olise, Wirtz, Musiala? Be interesting to see who they target because I’d say all of those names are way below Salah’s quality, except Musiala.
-
Definitely happier as a fan with all these players potentially staying. However, don’t we need a few sales (or a high-profile sale) to balance the books this summer? Seems my understanding of our FFP situation but could be wrong.
-
Although Liverpool will get a substantial fee for Salah, it’s going to be practically impossible to replace him. I mean, how can you? His output throughout every season he’s been there has been nothing less than extraordinary.

Great turn from Ratatouille there
-
Nunez’s final touch has been poor, really harming Liverpool’s success on a counter.
-
Kelly would be a good signing on a free. We really need to get some outgoings sorted this summer for some of our fringe players like Targett.

I want us to go full Man City 2008, couldn’t care less. -
Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Felt our midfield balance was a lot better when he was on the pitch. -
Obviously difficult to do with injuries, but if we can, he has to be removed from the starting line-up for a spell. He’s totally drained of confidence and it’s painful seeing him play lately.
-
Thought we faded quite a bit last 25 mins or so. Our performances against lower-placed teams, particularly at home, have been utterly woeful this season.
-
Massive fan of his but thought he was poor tonight and actually lowered our overall level of quality.
