Is there no other talent in our academy who can perhaps come in and be an alternative option off the bench, instead of him?

7.5/10. Happy with the players we’ve signed, but the decision not to prioritise a quality wide player is puzzling. The options off the bench are still poor, most aren’t even good enough for this level in general. It will take time, but a couple loans in some areas to tide us over until next summer would have been preferable. Have to hope we stay relatively injury-free and that Howe can continue getting strong performances and results from the squad.

Lack of squad depth is a worry for me, really thought they would have brought in a winger.

We needed another midfield / forward option. To have the likes of Jacob Murphy, Ritchie and Wood as our main reserves is poor. It’s like going down to 10 men when one of them is on the pitch.

I agree, our options off the bench are really poor.

Would have suggested Lucas Moura on loan, but seems like Spurs aren’t interested in a loan. Would probably be able to get him relatively on the cheap permanently.

Thought our owners were supposed to be mates with Boelhy? Get him to do us a favour and send Pulisic our way. Tuchel isn’t exactly going to miss him.

I’m fuming at Joelinton for not going to the corner as well. But the ref was going to play those extra 2-3 minutes regardless, so may not have mattered whatever he decided to do.

He doesn’t even try to take a player on or do anything positive on the ball. You’d be furious if you were his teammate, the guy just has no fight or will to win.

The game was up when Isak came on and their defence could push up at will to practically the halfway line. He’s not the type of striker we need and even if he was, he’s not good enough.

He’s got no fight in him at all. Looks terrified of the ball and loses every 50-50.

I don’t think our depth in midfield is good enough, we need at least one more in.

Difficult to see who the other two teams along with Bournemouth that will go down this season. The league seems really open.

I would be happy with Maitland-Niles on loan, think Howe’s coaching would improve him a lot. Do recognise it’s not a particularly exciting addition and also a bit Ashley-esque mind. We really need a couple more additions. The squad depth just isn’t there yet.

Shocking deal. No chance they take up that permanent option.

I’m not confident we’ll bring in any further signings this window.
