A Burnley win tonight would be stupendous
-
The reporting / reaction on such an issue never going to be sincere anyway due to the inescapable, underlying dynamic of football tribalism.
-
Ironically Tuchel also gave meaningless soundbites on the Abramovich issue and he was lauded for it. Conveniently forgotten that he went on record to dedicate his Club World Cup victory to his boss just a few weeks earlier as well.
-
It’s key that Palace get through the first 20 minutes unscathed, you’d imagine the atmosphere will be intense for the early period. If they do, I think Palace will get something.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I would grudgingly respect Tariq and Delaney’s views on sportswashing if they have been wholly consistent on the matter all the way through. But they haven’t, it doesn’t take a scrupulous search to see both we’re deafeningly quiet on Abramovich for years, even complimentary in some cases, until the prevailing political winds made that untenable. Tariq in particular seems to have a personal vendetta against Staveley, and by extension Howe.

If this is indeed a loan, I’ll be more relaxed about it. I just don’t see Henderson’s quality to be honest, which is my overriding concern with any move.
-
I don’t see the fascination with Henderson whatsoever. An average keeper who hasn’t played for about a year and a half. Unless something has happened with Dubravka i.e. he’s asked for a transfer. I cannot understand why this is being pursued, especially at the figures quoted for a permanent transfer.

Barely any of the targets mentioned by the media make sense if a limited budget is to be believed.

Burnley vs. Newcastle United: 22/05/22 @ 4pm (No UK TV)

Will be a tough game, Burnley have been battling well under their new manager. Hopefully they can get a result at Villa prior to this, perhaps taking the edge off it a little. -
Agreed, Watford should also be signing Hayden as a priority. Great player and character at that level.
-
Henderson would be a really poor signing.
-
I think our ownership will be going for it this summer, despite the media reports. We're not all that far away. There will be statement signings.
-
When things are going right, this club is an actual unstoppable force.
-
Tremendous, season-defining victory. How far we have come.
-
I expect the table to stay pretty much as is, apart from perhaps Villa and Palace swapping places. Be surprised if Southampton get any points in their remaining fixtures. 14th would be an excellent achievement for Howe and his coaching staff.
-
You’d expect Lyon will be under pressure to raise funds this summer after failing to make Europe.
-
For the fee mentioned, I’d rather us go for Tammy Abraham than Nunez, if he’s open to moving this summer anyway. I see Eriksen has revealed he’s received numerous contract offers from other clubs.
-
Can see Villa ending up with Bissouma rather than Phillips.
-
Can’t see Burnley getting anything at Villa.
-
Tarkowski seems a proper Ashley signing to me, even if that sounds unfair to the player.
-
Shocking decision by Castore and the club to approve this design. The obvious political / moral associations notwithstanding, on a general level it comes across as so smug, totally taking the piss.
-
Would be a poor signing. Hopefully Everton just refuse to sell him at all like we did with Longstaff a few seasons back.
-
I would rather we pursued Tammy Abraham than Nunez for that fee.
