Can't see Maddison leaving this month, think he'll assess his options and move in the summer.

Was with Murphy at Norwich.

rgk_lfc articulated this far better than I.

Because it hasn't wherever he's been that has that sort of system in place (by that I mean stories in the press, an air of disunity between him and the board or CEO etc). He's one who wants full control despite that clubs are moving toward a head scout/head of transfers/DoF model that works on transfers independent of the manager. I can't see clubs with those systems in place going for him. And that's most clubs at the top.

Benitez was a bad appointment for Everton from the start, not even withstanding the Liverpool connection. I agree he more than likely would've ended up keeping them up but unless a club totally buys into him, trouble follows. When he goes to clubs, as soon as he has a disagreement with the CEO or DoF it reaches the press. That was good for us and we loved it because Ashley (and Liverpool because Hicks/Gilette), but that follows him wherever he goes. At the first point of a disagreement he'll try and dismantle the existing setup and bring people from within his inner circle in. And with so many clubs operating with a DoF model or similar, I can't see him managing at the top clubs again unless he decides he can work in that setup.

Regardless they could've finished in Europe on the final day, and had their highest points total out of the last 5 years in Ancelotti's full season.

Everton could've finished in Europe on the final day of Ancelotti's full season in charge tbf, they had the luck of being away at Man City on the final day.

He'll motivate them and get them set up to grind out results, like. Be turgid to watch but is probably the sort of bloke they need at this time. Bielsa's probably a better fit for a club like Everton but totally the wrong time for him imo.

Did a good job at Burnley across 10 years but in his last season they only won 4 games in 30 before he was sacked.

Matterface and Dixon. Hope the gantry burns down.

As someone who missed out on the period, if I could watch or experience one of the sides or seasons from that era it's 1993-94.

One of Keegan's only mistakes, selling him? I know they had a fall out in October 1993ish and their relationship was probably not the same after but selling someone with a scoring record as ridiculous as Cole's was I don't think I'll ever get. It almost paid off. But it didn't.

Got to trust Howe and Ashworth on this, they've done far more than earn that from clueless cunts like me but this is a bit underwhelming, ngl. Hope he proves me wrong.

I think we need to freshen it up a bit in terms of signings tbh, given how paggered Wilson has looked and the lack of edge about the front 3 of Joelinton, Wilson and Almiron that we've seen. But even still we've had enough chances to win the league games we've had bar Arsenal comfortably imo. Leeds especially and we should've been leading the Fulham game at half time. Palace maybe not so, but on another day Joelinton connects with that shot better, Wilson gets his free header on target or Trippier's set pieces/crosses are better. Likewise with Leicester two weeks ago and on Tuesday night, we should've been leading well before we got the first goals in those games. It's why I think we're building up to just totally battering someone. But given the squad depth we can't afford to massively rotate bar bringing Isak and ASM back in, which is why I feel that needs to be rectified in the coming 4-5 days. Opportunity missed if we don't imo.

Aye, should've scored at least once in the first half v Fulham. Wilson especially, should've scored after a great turn in the box. At Palace I thought Joelinton should've done better in the first half with the shot he scuffed, Wilson had more or less a free header in the second half also but our crossing and set pieces were poor in that game overall imo. Missed a few chances v Leicester in the cup before taking the lead, Longstaff inside the first 30 seconds especially should've scored. Wood and Longstaff missed some great chances also v Leeds. Like back in August/September though I think we're building up to absolutely pummelling someone soon like we did v Fulham, Brentford and Villa. We scored 5 v Brentford but that was us punishing every single mistake they made, wasn't really a 5-1 on the balance of the 90 minutes. But the Villa game was relentless, could've and probably should've won that by 6.

I didn't in their last 5 home games last season either, but they got them.

I know it's impossible to predict owt from just the look of fixtures but Everton's run in is awful. Spurs (h) Man Utd (a) Fulham (h) Palace (a) Newcastle (h) Leicester (a) Brighton (a) Man City (h) Wolves (a) Bournemouth (h) I still don't think they'll go down mind for some reason. Think they'll put a run of results together in their home games like last season.

Hate that it's another midweek night game down there again. Scarred from last season.

Not the best look refusing to train if true, like. Gonna be quite the amount of beewwwws if he signs here and plays in the game at Goodison in April.
