  1. It can be argued what Keegan achieved was more successful unless you believe silverware is the only binary barometer of success. Or the rhetoric of ‘who can we get that will be any better’ which is the sort of belief that got ridiculed on here many a time in various different circumstances.
  2. And many of them do. Absolving him of blame and/or believing he and only he can manage NUFC is incredibly shortsighted.
  3. Unsure that losing Isak is the sole reason that the team look hopeless in possession home and away, we look devoid of any attacking ideas or that we are incapable of winning away from home 6 months from his departure tbh. We’ve seen similar performances to today when Isak was up front tbh.
  4. Thought it was rank today. No belief in that ground once we went behind whatsoever and that reflected in the players.
  5. That can be swung around to an argument of we spent £125m net on a team that finished 5th and look lucky to be finishing in the top half this season.
  6. How many bites of the cherry does he get? Even with this season there’s a fair chance he matches Carver’s record of domestic defeats in a row.
  7. There are other managers however that have lacked the credentials of their predecessor and have been a success, though. The manager that beat us today being one of a few. Howe is a factor in that, as he is in us being so dire to watch, that now showing in the home results after getting those results for 12 months away from home.
  8. Their 5th place season was viewed as an improvement/positive season despite missing out on CL in the last 3 games. And what about the other two? Howe’s shown himself based on the evidence thus far of incapable of managing/balancing multiple games a week regularly. For where we want to go, that’s unsustainable.
  9. If only it was as black and white as that. Had Arteta done that prior to succeeding Emery at Arsenal? Maresca to Pochettino? Andrews to Frank at Brentford?
  10. I also think the belief that no one on the planet other than Eddie Howe can manage us is ludicrous tbh.
  11. In regard to hypothetical managerial wishes personally if we can’t get Tuchel I’d take a punt on either Hoeneß or Fabregas.

    Jacob Murphy

No idea why he started ahead of Elanga who’d played himself into a wee bit of form. Who then only come on once behind. Shite management.
  13. We were never as poor at home in 23-24 amongst the congestion as we have been all of this season. We’ve not once had a performance at home similar to the levels to what we had against Palace, Chelsea and Man Utd that season.

    Yoane Wissa

He was fucking anonymous. Rather see Osula start which speaks volumes.
  15. Tactically done and outplayed at home to Brentford. Unacceptably poor, again.
  16. First time all season I’ve genuinely rather than toyed with the thought we need a change. We are so bad.
  17. Most of the main stand the camera is facing as well as both ends behind the goals all standing at Elland Road. SJP would have a coronary at the thought.
  18. I will. He’d end up costing more than the fee we’d get for Tonali, plus I think we need totally different profiles of midfielders anyway to Anderson.
  19. If he wants anyway come the summer, identify a replacement between now and June, get the best possible price for him and move on. However that’s what we’ve been quite poor at in recent windows, the club have to start working multiple windows ahead for both incomings and outgoings. It can be argued that the Tonali replacement should already be at the club. Same with Tino. I digress but too many players have been held onto for too long, so poor at selling. Trippier, Pope, Willock, Joelinton, Wilson, Almiron; many of those players we could’ve had alright money for at optimal times, instead they were held onto or given new contracts and we have lost some and will likely lose all for next to nowt.
  20. I hate the premise of “having” to sell your best players. But the mismanagement at that club has been staggering. Why were Soyuncu, Evans and Tielemans allowed to run their contracts down when it was clear either they or the club didn’t want to extend them? Why were plodders like Coady and Winks given such high wages? Why did they spend a hefty fee on shite like Oliver Skipp?
  21. Not impossible but with our performance levels and results away from home this season coupled with the away fixtures we have left, we’re putting enormous pressure on our home games to win.
  22. The bar is really low, granted and he’s not a £55m quality winger and don’t think he’s going to be but I really want it to work for him here. Got a huge soft spot for him for some reason. And tbf to him, each time I’ve seen him in 2026 he’s looked motivated; got his head down and trying to play himself into some form when he’s come on. Looked useful too. Just a shame his first goal wasn’t a meaningful one in front of the Gallowgate.
  23. Hate to nitpick but I personally really didn’t like the Arsenal at home performance. We shouldn’t have lost it really given Pope’s error leading to one of their goals (can’t remember which one) which would’ve been a good result seeing how well they’re going this season, but in the second half we contributed absolutely nothing offensively bar long balls in Elanga’s direction. I don’t remember us having a shot of any description, I know it’s Arsenal but barely an attack worthy of the name in a half of football at SJP is really poor. Don’t care who we’re playing.
