Bit of variation as I can't sleep some last home game of the season stuff

Still worried about Libpewl. Just joking. Would love to Chinese burn Jurgen Klopp's neck. Odious cunt.

+41 in 1993-94. 42 game season, mind. Best in a 38 game season is +33 in 1996-97.

Gutted that's likely him out of the last 2 games, he's had a fantastic season. Only wish he had a few more goals to show for it.

Special tonight. Got to be honest, crowd recognised the importance of the game and the pattern it would take but incessant backing, even in the immediate aftermath of their goal. Can't wait for Monday.

Said it on Boxing Day, they did us 0-3 in a freezing cold, grim environment. So obviously light years clear of us in every department and something as fans under Ashley we aspired to be like. We then reversed that on Boxing Day and did them 0-3 in their backyard in exactly the same circumstances. They've been going for Champions League in 2 of the last 3 seasons, but just missed out. This match could confirm our place in the Champions League, yet officially relegate them. Absolutely bonkers.

Away from SJP, different fixture.

Got it spot on tonight. The press first half was spot on, suffocated them, couldn't get near our box. Second half they come out as a team would when 2-0 down, got the goal but we were still solid. Reminded me of the game v Brighton (H) last season but we had the extra bit of quality to kill the game off on the break. PL manager of the season if he sees a top 4 finish through. I can't see how anyone can argue against it.

Still think so? Genuine question btw. @Ronaldo

Man of the match tonight. Unbelievably good. Perfect for matches like that.

What were we all worrying about? 1 win away from the Champions League, man. 1 fucking win.

Heading into town now. Need to. Shaking like I'm having random tremors. PINTS

Kenny Wharton sat on the ball v Luton. Tommy Robinson, Andrew Tate. Sir Les' first goal for us v Coventry, first game of the season. An opportunity to play against something to do with Mike Ashley. Richard Keys. Nostalgia and schadenfreude dictates Coventry for me.

Would take them up on that if the pints weren't lifting.

That 1960s? My grandad is probably in there somewhere.

Not saying we have collapsed, but it'll feel like we have if we don't get there. We could lose tomorrow and it'd still be in our hands with two bottom half teams to play. Europe in whatever form was going to alter the equation though, the squad needs padding out a tad with 3-4 first team quality players coming in. I agree with both of your last points, they will be careful and this place is fucking unbearable most of the time tbh. One thing the club and Howe will have to manage is the increase in expectations but that's par for the course imo. Top 7 or 8 next season should be the aim, at least some form of Europe. It was what I thought we should be targeting at the start of this season given we've been in top 4 form for 18 months.

Owners won't go 'mental' per se but the difference in the income between Champions League and Europa League is massive. From the prize money for winning or drawing matches, to the sponsorship, to the wider international interest. It'd almost be a hurdle overcome in regards to the 'fair market value' sponsorship craic. It isn't. The state of Leicester City is down to a multitude of reasons; their owners King Power hemorrhaging money due to COVID, abysmal squad management in contracts, signings and outgoings, Rodgers' management for the last 18 months and general underperformance on the pitch. CL now would fast track us exponentially. It's been a memorable season already but I'll be devastated if we don't make it now. After 28 matches we were 10 points clear of Liverpool with the same games played, if they finished above us there's no way you could dress it up other than a bit of a collapse a la Leicester in 2019-20 and 2020-21. Arsenal last season to a degree as well. And that'd be hard to stomach no matter how well we've done this season.

As good as Villa have been under Emery I just don't see Liverpool not winning their last game of the season at Anfield. More so if we give them incentive by dropping points tomorrow. Win tomorrow and its there for us. But it has to be a win, anything less and I just can't see us doing it unfortunately.

Making use of height. If only we could do the same.
