  1. Only slightly irks me when we're involved in the conversation, ie I don't care when people call them 'United' in a context where we're not relevant or being talked about. But when we play them next week and someone calls them United in the buildup, during or after the game then that gets on me nerves.

  3. Palace are all over the place here. Look absolutely shit.
  4. 0-1 Leeds, Palace have started this terribly.
  5. Hungover as fuck. Thanks Eddie and Bruno.
  6. 1-2 us. Their favourite rapist to not even get on the pitch this time around.
  7. It is a bit but it's a blend of a lot of things, German from the Anglo-Saxons, Old English from what followed, Scottish from the countless invasions and Viking. Words from the Vikings include hyem and oot, seen as the words for the equivalent in Danish and Norwegian is hjem and ute/ud.
  8. Given we're going through memories of the day it went through, I was unfortunately down in Derby for uni. The Tuesday (5th October) my older brother came down for a few drinks and we were just talking about how shit it all was, the performance at Wolves, the CAT hearing, Bruce being in charge, that he'll take us down and that anyone out there could do a better job. Refused to be pulled back in by the tweets a year ago today from Edwards, Ziegeler et al who were always negative about the takeover. Sat at my laptop on 7th all day with SSN on staring at Twitter and this place. When it eventually happened and the club and PL put out confirmation I couldn't believe it. All the shit under Ashley, relegations, Kinnear, Pardew, failed takeovers, Benitez leaving, Bruce, jokes of transfer windows, botched attempts at protesting, incessant complaining that nothing will ever change; it all hit me at once that it was finally over and I couldn't help but (silently) sat in my room in the house at uni I burst into tears. Pure joy and relief that it was finally over. That's what it was all about for me, it wasn't the riches that we now have, it was all about getting that fucking parasite out of the club. Only wish I was in town or at home when it happened. What a feeling.
  9. Love WBA. Finished off Pardew, Allardyce and now Bruce at football at a decent in level in this country.
  10. Will have to give this a miss unfortunately, something's come up. Will definitely do the next one, assuming there is one.
  11. He'll want to keep Brentford guessing by any means like he did with Bruno for Bournemouth.
  12. On Boxing Day we stuffed Stoke 5-1 and were 6 points off top. We sold Cabaye, didn't replace him even though the club knew for months that he was leaving and we capitulated. Broke records for consecutive defeats, many 0-3 and 0-4 defeats at home, games without scoring. That 2nd half of 2013-14 was an absolutely awful time to be a Newcastle fan. It wasn't necessarily the football under Pardew as to why I personally resent the revisionism of him (though it was atrocious at times) but how he talked about and belittled both the club and expectations. Dedicating a 2-0 win over Chelsea to 'Mike', claiming that Newcastle United 'can't compete with Swansea and Southampton', saying 'thank god we're not in Europe' after 2012-13 to cover his own arse. Think I've posted this before but I think Pardew's shtick throughout 2012-13 scarred many of our fans and Ashley. After every shit result, performance, defeat and/or injury he'd blame it on the Europa League. He was more than happy to only bring in Amalfitano and Anita in the summer before he started to spout that to cover his own arse. Many of our fans bought it and I think still do, many won't want UECL or UEL this season due to those tropes and it all stems from Pardew and that season. Think also that Ashley bought it hence why we never overly strengthened in January from a moderate position of security, the ambition post 2012-13 was just to float from 17th-10th as Europe to the club then just brought a risk of injuries therefore a risk of relegation. Fuck Pardew for all of that.

    Jesse Lingard

Wanted him in January on loan when we had 2 wins after 21 games. Once safety was secured, our sights were rightly turned elsewhere to better.
  14. Some save from yi da at Anfield.
  15. Don't have a webcam and my mic is fucked, seeeewwwwy.
  16. Liverpool v Rangers tonight is going to be a bit feisty. Quite a few Rangers fans in the home end, brutal exchanges happening on Twitter, lovely stuff.
  17. Aye, might do. Why not. Is it just general football knowledge or NUFC knowledge?
  18. Using a uni resource for recreational reasons. Fighting the power, respect it.
