Done. Also changed the coat of arms in the corner and the look of the faces to make them look a little less photo like. -
I'd love for us to get Djed Spence, but he'll probably have suitors that'll give him far more game time than we would given Trippier's importance.

Wor Flags: visit worflags.org.uk/donate to support future displays

I've made a small knock up of an idea for a flag. I remember back to mid 2018 when Ashley protests were being mooted and I tried looking at designing concepts even though I'm no good. But now things are positive again, I couldn't help but getting back into it. I really like the designs of Soviet propaganda and liked the flag that Liverpool fans have for past managers down below. Now I've done a brief one for us below it, went for the colours of the 1995-96 away top due to not wanting red for obvious reasons and because black and white would make the images harder to see. Also replaced the star with the coat of arms of the city, but that could easily be removed if it looked better without. So aye. Not perfect but an idea I just haven't been able to get out of my head. Someone better at graphic design could refine it. -
Academy needs a total revamp in every department. Fuck Shola off as this 'loan manager', literally only Elliot Anderson has had a successful loan in the last few years that I can think of and that's because he's miles ahead of League 2 in terms of ability. The club for years has loaned out players ad infinitum where they get hardly any playing time until they reach 23, 24 where they aren't really young players anymore. They then end up being sold for a pittance or end up at Gateshead or Blyth. In future we need to be giving some of these lads a chance at a senior competitive level. Either get concrete guarantees about playing time when loaning them out or give them a chance in early League Cup or FA Cup ties against ≤League 1 opposition for the first team, which we never seem to do for some reason.

Dunno, so bizarre. If it is for the FA Cup final then that's canny shite. Hate Sunday games.
-
I'd have to see how uni work is and if my dissertation is done by then. If it is I may come along, but I'm nowhere near a 100%.
-
Why are all the games for gameweek 37 already scheduled for Sunday? Usually only the final day of the season is a Sunday, why the penultimate game?
-
Change the lion then. The rest of it is fine.

I think it's looks shit tbh. Seems tightened together and more of something you'd see for a Hasbro version of our badge. Can we just leave stuff alone that isn't broke? In terms of cleaning up the badge if someone absolutely had to, when you Google our crest you find these two designs which I vastly prefer to that guy's redesign.

He's had his best games both in terms of output and performance when played in the number 10, where he played for Atlanta. But we've seldom played with one. Bruce went to a 4-4-1-1 just before COVID in 2019-20 and we had a run of games after the restart where he played well and scored a few goals. Burnley (h) D 0-0 West Brom (a) W 3-2, scored twice, played a key part in our third, Bruce then took him off and that's when we almost fell to bits Southampton (a) W 1-0, along with Gayle spurned a few chances but was in the right areas - COVID - Sheff Utd (h) W 3-0, can't remember much of this tbh Villa (h) D 1-1 Bournemouth (a) W 4-1, scored an unreal goal for 0-3 West Ham (h) D 2-2, scored again, finished off a lovely move for 1-1 Then he was never played in the 10 again until Southampton (h) last season where we won 3-2 and he scored twice and covered loads of ground when we went down to both 10 and 9 men. He shouldn't be played on the wing and if Howe wants to keep this 4-3-3 next season I'd cash in tbh.

The thread translated; Bruno Guimarães participated in the Gringolândia podcast, from @geglobo, and commented on his arrival at Newcastle United. You can follow the episode on the main platforms of the modality and on the GE website. Below are some excerpts. #nufc About his arrival at the club, Bruno Guimarães commented: "It was a very quick negotiation, in 4.5 days we solved everything... I never hid my desire to play in the Premier League, it was always my dream and goal." On the choice to sign for Newcastle United, given the club's situation in the table: "I'm a player who loves challenges and I knew it would be difficult. But I spoke with the owners and with Joelinton. It was a very difficult decision of my life, it was not easy." About the project: "I believe in the project. The fans are passionate about the team, it's too different. Next season I believe it will strengthen to, who knows, seek a spot in the Champions League, in the Europa League. " About Eddie Howe: "I believe a lot in the coach. He's a very smart guy in my perception. He's a guy who likes to work, so he's always looking to improve the players. He's always showing videos, he's always trying to be better than the other coaches." On the perception of the crowd: "The guys here have already made music, shirts with my photo. Shirts with several pictures of me. When I make passes it's 'Bruno, Bruno, Bruno'. It's been really cool, I'm enjoying it a lot here"

That was a great side but imo the 2013-14 side before we sold Cabaye was better. We were 6 points off top after we stuffed Stoke on Boxing Day. Cabaye was sold and it all fell apart, arguably the start of the downward spiral to relegation in 2016.

IMO the only possibility of him staying injury free if he's not the only decent striker at the club. Some of the names we've been linked with such as Nunez or Osimhen would be perfect with Wilson behind them, but if we're relying on him again next season something will have gone wrong in the summer. He's only been available for 39% of his games here and has never had a season at Bournemouth without a long term injury either.
-
How do people feel about the idea of selling Wilson if we got a good fee? I'd consider it tbh. I love him but he's only been available for less than 50% of the games he's been at the club for and that is incredibly poor. 41 PL appearances out of a possible 105.

Nunez, Kamara, Botman. The article also says we've remained in contact with Lingard who I'd still take, assuming Almiron and/or Murphy are going to be moved on.
-
Well he got the £50m January budget spot on so I'm sure this cutting edge reporting is more than accurate.

Yes and no. It means that clubs can't spend more than 70% of their income, including wages, on transfers. However there'll be a 3 year transitional period, first 90%, then 80%. Clubs that can inflate their revenues or dilute the dodginess on their balance sheets a la Man City with sponsorships then obviously 90, 80 and 70% of their income is going to be far higher than clubs outside the big 6 and outside the PL. We'll be okay once we can get the sponsorships in, assuming that the 'fair market value' shite doesn't wash anymore or expired. If it's still in place, who knows but either way it's going to be some summer. Once we get into Europe (mainly the CL) our revenues will be incredibly big compared to what they were or are now. Last season's figures have us 28th and that's with no Europe, crowds and Ashley imposed austerity.

Already put mine on Twitter but if I could only pick 1 (as there's fucking loads) it's the sheer elitism. Not just in the context of the Super League attempt but as a whole, the wider media, fans, et cetera. Top level European football is a quasi plutocracy anyway but I fucking despise when clubs, managers, journalists, fans, pundits talk in such a manner. Klopp on 5 subs for example, get to fuck you odious cunt. Constantly looking for ways to add to what is an already gapingly wide gulf between his club and those below. Ties into punditry and journalism too. If a "big 6" is struggling it'll always be along the lines of "this is club x, club x is enormous, this shouldn't be happening". No, club x is where they are on merit, if they're fucking shit they're fucking shit, because they won a few trophies a decade or so ago doesn't or shouldn't change that. That clubs below the "big 6" should 'stay in their lane' when they try for big players or try challenging the Super League nonces for European football or honours. Just absolutely hate it and it's been a staple of the Premier League era.
-
Would probably implode if Dybala ended up here.
-
Jack Wilshere.
-
Can play as a striker, really a number 10 though. Gonna hate seeing him playing for one of the 6 Super League nonces.
-
He can be criticised. However, he's probably the least of the squad's problems and is getting mass criticism from the NUFC yer das. Same ones there did so to Ginola, Robert, HBA. He grows into games (only scored 1 first half goal) and probably is not fully up to speed. But imo because he grows into games I'd either start him or not bring him on at all when the games have been as tight as the last 2.
