Haven't won in the league at Anfield since 1994. This is going to be a case of just keeping the score down. Depressing but it's where we are. 2-0 or 3-0.

Great to be back in an away end yesterday, first time for me in years and the away end was top draw. Great support throughout and very few early leavers when the 3rd and 4th goals went in. If only we had a team to match it. The first half was largely a non event, didn't really see the pen incident clearly at the time but now that I have, dunno what the point in VAR is when the refs are not being told to go and look at cons like that. 0-0 would've been reflective of the game in the first half, no clear cut chances for either side. They were able to just play on the break after as we don't have the nous to break teams down when the onus is on us, which is really disappointing given their defensive record. Felt like things could easily have turned if we equalised or got it back to 2-1. To collapse and lose 4-0 and not have the opposition play well to do so is really worrying and reeks of relegation. Massive opportunity missed as they were beatable and our upcoming fixtures are grim. Major changes needed, was really disappointed with Maxi yesterday as well, not just his performance which was completely ineffectual but just went straight down the tunnel at the end. May have to be used as an impact sub for the next few games.

Free 5er on Targett and McGinn cards, 16/1.

We tend to never blood ours though. Many of those u23s and u18s will never make a first team appearance for us going off the recent past, places in League Cup and FA Cup matches which other PL clubs play youngsters in have went to the likes of Krafth, Hendrick and Joselu.

U18s beat West Ham in the Youth Cup 2-3. This Michael Ndiweni sounds promising, would love to see him play at some point.

We deservedly stuck 4 past them and should've probably scored more against the strongest side they could put out if they had no injuries last season. Not saying we will again but there's goals in it for us, no reason at all to me why we can't go there hopeful of beating them.

It was there at some point in lateish 1993. It wasn't there for the opening game v Spurs or Blackburn (h) but it was there around October time. Just going off the matches on the 93-94 season reviews.

They're feeling good about this one. https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/127378-newcastle-h-1400-sunday-pre-match/

Would take Wijnaldum back on loan, but I do still resent that second half of 15-16. People oft say he only turned up for home games, he actually only tuned up for the first half of home games in 15-16. Second half of that season he was completely anonymous and dropped by Benitez. That was however mostly under McClaren who was absolutely hopeless. Howe wouldn't tolerate it and he would infinitely improve our midfield options. Do still feel though that whilst we need a whole new midfield (or squad) I'd focus on a defensive midfielder. Posted about him a few times now but Boubacar Kamara from Marseille is quality, plays as a DM (can also play CB) will have 6 months left on his contract in January. Competition for him and our league position may sway that one though.

Leicester fans I'm going to/drinking before the game with aren't confident and fwiw, one said they'd have ASM and probably Dubravka over Schmeichel atm. Apparently he's been shite lately but won't be dropped because he's club captain. If that matters.

Man Utd v Villa and West Ham v Leeds are also league fixtures just the following weekend. Awful picks.
-
Been to a pub quiz tonight with the couple of Leicester mates at uni I have and they're not confident one bit for this. More fussed about the Napoli game tomorrow/today.

What an obnoxious weapon. Just muted his account. So annoying. Hugely resent the amount of bell ends and weirdos we have in our online fanbase.

January is huge for us. The window plus Southampton (a), Watford (h), Leeds (a). FA Cup added to that too which I personally want us to progress in.
-
After these 4 games I'd probably go for Howe. People need to move on.
-
He was but was brought up in Newcastle.
-
Don't see many ties jumping out as ones that are certainly to be on TV. Probably any of these; Chelsea v Chesterfield Liverpool v Shrewsbury Kidderminster v Reading (?) Hull v Everton Spurs v Morecambe Millwall v Palace Swindon v Man City Man Utd v Aston Villa Newcastle v Cambridge Nottm Forest v Arsenal Been a mostly naff draw imo.
-
Nah, lost rights to ITV. Just them and BBC for the FA Cup now.
-
Happy with that. I'll be going, would love for it to be a sell out. Also depends on how many Cambridge bring up. Reckon it'll be one of the TV games?

Derby away would be great for greedy personal reasons.
