You're forgetting that Joseph George Willock exists. Didn't get the goals of his loan spell but grew right into the season after Leeds away and before his injury.

Lived in Chester-le-Street all my life and have to put up with it again for another year. Hate the place. Just use it as a transport hub for town or Durham.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26
HaydnNUFC replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
Under Ashley I always maintained that I'd be more than happy to pay more for match tickets with a new owner to coincide with the rise in quality of product on the park. Alas, here we are. Not overly arsed about this though as they're friendlies and I never go to friendlies. Ticket prices will only start becoming a concern when the cheapest single ticket is in excess of £60-£70 and STs are close to a grand. Newcastle and the North East aren't exactly the most affluent of areas and given this is Tory Britain with a cost of living crisis and disdain for the working class I hope that if tickets ever do rise to that we can do what Liverpool fans did back in 2016 and walk out of a match or something in protest as they did when their tickets were put up to £77 and STs were over a grand for a club whose catchment area is very similar politically and economically to us. -
Everton in for Broja.

I'm 21, turn 22 in December and I enjoy going out in town especially around a matchday, before and after and really enjoy it. I'm much more of a pub person than clubs so the late night culture around people aged 18 to about 23 has never appealed to me. I think it's arose from student culture and being skint, people nowadays have 'pre drinks' where they buy alcohol in house, meet at about 9pm, drink until 11pm to midnight then go out as it means they're already drunk so don't spend as much money when out on more expensive drinks in a night club. That's never been me. I'm more of a day drinking, pub person. Pints, scran, back home pissed by about 11pm-midnight when all the others I mentioned start to come out. I drink in town down the Ouseburn, Pink Lane, Westgate Road, opposite train station, Grey/Shakespeare Street, Pilgrim Street, High Bridge, Quayside and Dean Street. Avoid the places that get a disgrace after a certain hour; Mosley Street, Collingwood Street, Centre for Life, Dog & Parrot and Grainger Street (due to the McDonalds). I think student culture, especially in a city with two unis, is the reason for you auld gits complaining its not as good as it used to be.

Almiron last assisted a PL goal in September 2020. He scored 1 goal in the entirety of last season. Fraser had 2 goals, 3 assists in 27 appearances last season. Absolutely not. A CM is a medium term issue imo which we can sort next summer. A striker and wide player are massively important this window.

Wouldn't like Nike, all their shirts this season have the same template no matter the club. Umbro, Adidas or New Balance for me. Adidas would probably do redone retro stuff like they have done for Arsenal, if they did that for us they'd make an absolute fortune

Broja on loan with an option to buy with the main chunk of the budget going on a RW would be good business. Haven't watched or know too much about Broja but him pushing Wilson or coming in when Wilson gets injured would be good. Diaby in pls.

Yep, fully agree and what I've been trying (and failing ) to articulate. Bruno has been amazing for us in the role he currently has, restricting that or moving him deeper to accommodate Paqueta doesn't make too much sense to me as good a footballer as Paqueta is (not that I've watched him extensively, which I haven't). We could then change from 4-3-3 to another formation, but I don't see why we should alter the formation that has us in top 4 form post January just to fit him or another attacking midfielder in. If we want to compete in midfield in the games against the top 6 you need that destroyer; Liverpool have Fabinho, Man City have Rodri, Spurs have Hojbjerg/Bissouma, Arsenal have Partey, Chelsea have Kante. Man Utd are washed. No idea who that could be as like I say its a medium term problem. Striker and winger are far more important.
-
He's a known WUM/fraud/wannabe ITK. Ignore anything he says.
-
Agree with this. Hence my want of a DM/#6 to cope with that scenario, but it's far from the most pressing matter that requires attention in our squad. Striker and winger are far more important.

Not really concerned about it as I have absolute faith we'll get one but we desperately need a striker far more than a midfielder. Upgrades anywhere on the pitch will be massively welcomed of course, but can't help but feel that this summer will have been a bit of a failure if we're just hoping Wilson doesn't get injured again (which he will looking at his record if he's our only quality striker) and we have to play Wood.

Prefer the McEwans Lager sponsor on it, me. Love how when its that sponsor the kit is just completely black and white even with the numbers on (discounting that tiny blue bit where the buttons are).
-
Love that jumper. That may be getting bought to go alongside my 1996-97 one.
-
Got mine sorted. Was 300th or so in the queue so in within 5 minutes. If only I was around that place on Tuesday.
-
Trevor Francis or Jerry Hitchens?
-
Hope they improve the food and drink quality in the ground. Not asking for ridiculous pricey gourmet shite a la Spurs but just better quality stuff in all areas of the ground. Plus would like to see things like Tyne Bank or Wylam beer instead of the piss swill that is Carling which is all you can really get. (Where I usually sit anyway)
-
We're not signing Paqueta. He doesn't fit what we need as a midfielder and some of our fans seem hung up on him because he's Bruno's mate. We need a DM/#6 if we're signing another midfielder but I don't think we will this window as a winger and striker are far more important.

That season ended up being canny. -
We only finished 7 points off West Ham after giving the league a 14 game head start.
