  1. Me and me dad were talking in the pub for absolutely ages about this, what is your all time NUFC XI but only counting players that you've seen? Obviously my list is gonna be far more depressing than anyone else's on here (4-3-3) Dubravka, Trippier, Coloccini, Schär/Burn, Enrique, Tiote, Cabaye, Bruno, Ben Arfa, Saint-Maximin, Wilson.

Modus operandi for media outlets to keep fans clubs outside the big 6 involved, is the "big club" debate. Its absolutely pointless, bald men fighting over a comb. What constitutes a big club to one person is different to the next. But ultimately who gives a shit? It's doing Everton brilliantly, being the biggest club to potentially ever go down. What an accolade. Who gives a flying fuck.
  3. Lush from Ronaldo, that. Deserved a goal.
  4. Edwards is an arsehole. Was waxing lyrical about Benitez when he was here but is now undergoing revisionism on his time here. Still is defending his fat fucking fraud of a mate with cheap little digs and his article about how everyone should be rooting for Liverpool in spite of an earlier article that Man City don't deserve (similar) support in their pursuit of trophies underpins how little credibility he has as a football journalist.
  5. Think Fulham have a much better chance of stopping up next season than they have in their previous 2 PL appearances.
  6. Bruno is in the top 6% of progressive passers and top 8% for shot creating actions per 90 in the top 5 leagues. Plenty of creativity in him alone, the 3rd midfielder can either be changed between Joelinton, Shelvey or Willock or we could buy another one. Don't really buy the Paqueta links, think they've been created by our fans alone purely because he's Bruno's mate. May be wrong though. Couldn't think of better realistic wide options; Lingard would still be a solid option for a couple seasons but unless we go abroad and get someone like an Antony (no idea how realistic he is, probably not very) or someone we haven't heard of before I dunno who we could get.
  7. Just watched the game on Saturday back. Bruno was starved of the ball, hence why were resorting to trying to find Joelinton with a long diagonal which ended up in a turnover almost every time. We need a DM/#6 to play alongside Bruno if we continue with playing a midfield 3. Mentioned him a few times now but Boubacar Kamara would be perfect. Kamara-Bruno-Joelinton is a top half PL midfield. Need another CB given the expected outgoings in the summer. If we can't get Botman I'd look at Badiashile or St. Juste; the latter would give much needed pace at CB which we lack. Mental how I want us to keep Krafth nowadays. For LB though, signing Targett permanently I'd not be against and it would be the most sensible deal we could make in all honesty. But I'd go for that Aaron Hickey as an understudy if Lewis is going to be moved on. If not, keep Lewis as that second choice. For wide attackers to take some pressure off of ASM, I'd not be averse to going back in for Lingard on a free. Bergwijn is looking like he's leaving Spurs and I'd take him but he'll probably go back to the Netherlands. Would also think about taking Maxwel Cornet from Burnley if they were to go down, but I don't think they will. As for a striker, it's the most important part of the summer that we have to get right. We need 2 imo; one main man and a young understudy. For the latter I'd go back in for Ekitike. For the main striker, it's a tough one. Nunez is my dream choice and while there is a slight chance we could get him, he's likely off to Arsenal or Man Utd. Would take Ivan Toney back, his link up play is spot on and has got the goals to go alongside the quasi arrogance. Moussa Dembele is also an option. Victor Osimhen would likely take out ~80% of our budget and dunno if we could lure him here. Tough one.

Generally resent telling a club's fans that someone they dislike is actually brilliant. We've had it for years with Bruce, Pardew, Allardyce. Everton fans know their club far more than any of us and too many say he did a shit job for him not to have done.
  9. Aware of that, was comparing them because of the yer da section of our fanbase that hated Robert (or any flair player really) that is now possessing ever growing hatred for ASM and want him sold.
  10. Been surprised by him last few. We were linked in January and would've been quite underwhelmed by him but he does seem to lead the line well as you say.
  11. Leeds to go. Burnley, 34pts: Villa (h), Spurs (a), Villa (a), Newcastle (h) Leeds, 34pts and a rancid GD: Arsenal (a), Chelsea (h), Brighton (h), Brentford (a) Everton, 32pts: Leicester (a), Watford (a), Brentford (h), Palace (h), Arsenal (a)
  12. Not all of Leeds, Everton or Burnley will get 40 points.
  13. Leeds to go. Can only see them getting a maximum of 5 points. Everton I can see get 7 or 10, depending if they can beat an absolutely rancid Watford away from home. Leeds I can only see get 5, Burnley 7.
  14. Saw Everton picking something up today tbf. Think they'll get the points they need in the home games, but can see it going to the last day between Leeds and Everton. Burnley could well have enough by then.
  15. That's counterintuitive though: we'll get better players in the summer and beyond, so surely we should keep him as a result of that?
  16. I didn't see one. Thankfully the number of Saudi flags at games has been vastly overtaken by Brazilian ones.
  17. Yep, which is why I used him as a comparison. People will say that ASM can't touch Robert in regards to quality, yet their goal contribution per 90 is similar and Robert took set pieces in addition to playing in a far better side. It's a bit of revisionism given how the same people probably fucking hated him for not working hard enough and will be the same about ASM in about 10 years.
  18. 23 goal contributions in 83 appearances for us, where we've been mostly shit. For a comparison, Robert has 55 goal contributions in 150 appearances. Not much in it, Robert ever so slightly ahead on goal contributions per 90 and he took set pieces. He's in a bad patch of form, all players have them and we've all seen what he's capable of when in form. We're so close to the end of the season now and today and Sunday are games I'm not going to read too much into especially given the alternative forward options. Upgrade those alternative options and next season will be make or break for him. Not having reactionary calls to sell him, sorry like.
  19. End of the season couldn't come quick enough for him. Needs to reset and look forward to next season with better players around him. He's one the least of the squad's problems.
  20. I swear bonds haven't been sold since like around 1994 the whole Save Our Seats campaign and that? https://www.nufc.com/html/sos-irishtimes-1.html https://www.nufc.com/html/sos-irishtimes-2.html Not seen them advertised anywhere on the club site or on .com.
  21. I was last in in early February for the trebles, only place that springs to mind that does 3 for £6. Usually I'd never go in, it's one of the most popular student places hence the rowdy clientele on a weekend. Personally go by this account tbh. https://www.instagram.com/guinness_upon_tyne/ Inside the Irish Centre looks like a depressing auld bloke's social club from the 90s, however nice the Guinness is.
