Fonseca, Favre. Both out of work, both attainable, both competent and both of whom the fans would get behind. Get one of them done.

A big fuck off to Martínez. If Jones is championing him he can fuck off n'al.
-
Rather ominously I have a decent feeling about tomorrow. ?
-
They'll be playing Havertz up top then, Mount and Hudson-Odoi either side.

Chelsea v Southampton has actually been a really good game. Pens now.

Love Rafa. Galvanised the club and fans, represented hope at a time we thought we could have none, fought for the betterment of NUFC against Ashley. Would love if he came back, would certainly keep us up and take us towards where we want to be. However, I don't think he'll leave Everton and I don't think those running Everton would let him go yet either despite some fan unrest. They're still on 14(?) points from 9 games, 8th in the league, 6pts off Man City whilst having players like Calvert-Lewin and Doucoure out with injuries. So there's that. Plus, I've always been of the opinion even back in April-June 2020 that you shouldn't go back. I want a complete fresh start and that includes Benitez plus the unknown excites me, Fonseca excites, the dream back in 2020 of Allegri excited me. I want excitement and change and unfortunately I'm unsure I'd fully get that if Benitez came back as sound as an appointment that it is.

Would happily be on a podcast if asked. Couldn't be a regular though, but I talk about NUFC 90% of my spare time so would be well up for doing it on a pod.
-
I'll be out after the match. Nee Beehive though.

Voted Fonseca as he's the best most realistic option. Benitez, Rodgers and Ten Hag aren't breaking contract.

Proper football man.

What was considered progressive in the mid 00's is far from what is now. Howe, Potter and maybe even Parker are far from Pardew, Wilder, maybe even Hughton.
-
Gary Neville not covering himself in glory yesterday or today on Twitter. The more he defends Ole the more he loses credibility on Man Utd opinions. He's such a hit or miss pundit, speaks well on many things but also gets far wide of the mark on others. For example, he was absolutely bang on the money on the Ashley years here and the damage that was done to NUFC, but was so wrong on Bruce, Benitez and the comparisons between the two it was beggars' belief. Bizarre.

Howe is a young, progressive coach lightyears from the PFMness of Pardew. Would be far from a disastrous appointment but not the best one we could make.

Very football hipster choices in this article. It's just made me more sold on Fonseca. Damn you Horncastle. https://theathletic.com/2906694/2021/10/23/jaissle-amorim-alonso-hodgson-the-managers-newcastle-should-be-looking-at/

The performance was shocking, but I think it was because it was more of a shock. We come off good performances and results at home and a good performance v Benfica, and we put that in. But as I posted above, all 3 of their goals were counterattacks and shots from outside the area and we had a wrongly disallowed goal at 0-1. The 0-3 in 2013-14 was far worse imo, because the mackems dominated the game from start to finish. At SJP.

0-6 v Liverpool. 2nd 0-3 v the mackems. The first one was different, all 3 of their goals were breaks and shots from outside the box, we had the wrongly disallowed goal at 0-1. Still shit, but the 2nd 0-3 we were comprehensively outplayed by them at SJP, which is unforgiveable. 0-1 v Sheff Wed in League Cup. Almost all home games v Leicester since they came up.

Not a huge fan of Jones tbh but small (but glaringly obvious) changes like this will make a world of difference than under Cuntface.
-
Clutching at straws here, but 2020/21 Lost 0-2 (in front of no fans) 2019/20 Won 1-0 Hayden 2018/19 Lost 1-2 Joselu 2017/18 Won 3-0 Gayle, Perez 2 2015/16 Drew 2-2 Perez, Wijnaldum 2014/15 Won 2-1 Cisse 2 2013/14 Won 2-0 Gouffran, Remy 2012/13 Won 3-2 Gutierrez, Sissoko 2

Would take. Unlike Chelsea to be that slack defensively though.

Rapenaldo losing his head. Glorious.

Liverpool fans going siuuuu when that danger was offside just there

Couldn't give a flying fuck about Everton tbh. Complete indifference towards them. I actually know a couple of Evertonians in real life they're sound lads, the bizarre quasi hatred they have for us seems to only exist online for whatever reason. And if you judge a fanbase by their online presence, I'd fucking hate us too. On Benitez, whilst I would absolutely love it if he came back, firstly I don't think he would and secondly I want a complete fresh start and that includes Benitez.
