    Rafa Benítez

Rafa probably will get more out of him but Sean's been largely shit since his injury in March '19. Given that was over 2 years ago now I've became more and more convinced that the good run of form he had from January to that March was a purple patch. If we can get a decent price for him I'd think about cashing in tbh. Would keep Matty but Bruce's management of him has been absolutely rancid.

    Joe Willock

Aye. Last season Wilson's goals, Willock's goals and ASM's performances kept us up. 2019-20 our defence more or less kept us up due to the goals they scored ( ) plus some defensive tendencies instilled by Benitez were yet to wear off, hence why shocking performances mainly at home tended to be ground out to 0-0 draws particularly against the dross. We've stood still with Willock coming in but at least that gaping hole in the midfield has been filled. Plus I love the lad and its nice to actually feel something when watching us.
  3. He'll have probably told journalists off the record what the craic is so whatever is happening will come out soon. Unless he hates journalists.
  4. QPR, Ipswich, Oxford, Rotherham.
  5. The way he dresses will get yi fatha absolutely livid.
  6. Hope its true. Love the lad and actually want to feel a modicum of whatever whenever we play.
  7. We'll probably sign a loan player but it'll be probably after the first 1 or 2 games of the season. Not so certain about Willock; Southampton, Villa, Palace are clubs around us who have been spending. If we don't stump up funds I think there's a good chance he'll go elsewhere.
  8. Aye, that account used to be called Newcastle Goals (hence EnGee) and posted goal compilations while also being a WUM. Now he's a full time dedicated WUM. Ignore whatever he says.
  9. https://theathletic.com/2146802/2021/08/03/jamal-lewis-turned-back-on-athletics-to-make-it-as-a-footballer-newcastle-challenge-wont-faze-him?source=user-shared-article Really good article in the Athletic about Jamal Lewis, this paragraph from it I found rather indicative of Bruce's coaching attention. Shocking. "The problem was that, having been given the freedom to attack at Norwich, Lewis found himself in a Newcastle team who averaged the second-lowest possession in the Premier League. One source suggests Lewis would have benefitted from greater one-on-one attention during training, to aid his transition, but instead his education came during matches." State of that.
  10. He has 1 decent game in like, 10. If that. It's why he's still here and why he even stayed in the Championship with us in 2016/17, just the standard in the league that season was shocking so he only needed to put in a 6/10 performance to look like he was running the midfield. Plus he had Rafa. Can't remember a good performance he's had since Benitez left, I know he was our top scorer in 2019-20 ( ) but I genuinely can't. Last time I remember him being any around decent or above was in the last few home games of 2017/18.
  11. Wasn't ASM one of the players, like Joelinton, that the club put to Rafa and he didn't want him? Also pretty sure the last time a 'reasonable source' told TF something it was that the takeover was happening.

    Joe Willock

The PL has gotten better I think. Last season was the first time the league was won with fewer than 90 points since 2015-16. Plus Villa finishing bottom half with 55 points as you say. I think Willock's preferred destination is here tbh. Whether we'll take the piss in regards to getting him is another thing.
  13. The venn diagram of people who end their shite opinions with "fact", "end of" or the "?‍♂️" emoji and absolute bell ends is just a circle.
  14. Aye. Which nullifies the style of play argument, even then it wasn't even that bad. Critics just tend to think Man City at home in 2017-18 (0-1 defeat) and Chelsea at home in 2018-19 (1-2 defeat) was the norm which just wasn't the case. Bruce has the best squad we've had since 2013-14; bit more patchwork than that team with the Willock shaped hole in midfield atm but still the best side since then imo. Yet it's still serving up dross you'd expect from a newly promoted side with the stuffing of Leicester in May, performance at Everton in January or the battering of Bournemouth last season isolated exceptions to the rule even though that it was what these players are capable of. He can fuck off. Edwards' patronisation and winding up of the fans is why he's such a cunt. The sucking of Bruce's cock he does is fucking embarrassing.
  15. "exact same points as his predecessor" as if that's an achievement. Matching the points total of a manager with a negative net spend over 3 seasons and having a spend of £100m yourself, all the while seeing style of play and various players largely regress and at worse stagnate. Fuck sake man.
  16. Hahaha, he's absolutely seething, the bald cunt. Please do get off the ride. Hope it runs you owa.
  17. Tbf, I don't think Bruce is that bad at identifying players. Robertson and Maguire at Hull, Wilson, Willock, Lewis still has time to come good here, Fraser perhaps too, Lazaro wasn't too bad although the fecker never played him. He just hasn't got a clue how to use or nurture them the majority of the time.
  18. If Woodman doesn't start against West Ham then that's his Newcastle career over. Have a feeling Bruce will start Gillespie, because he's a clueless mong.
  19. Not claiming to speak for him but I think it's because it's getting on 17 months since fans were in grounds and people miss it. Some may see that as one of many different excuses to attend matches but I can see why people will still go. I've even toyed with the idea of a match before coming to sense about how largely pointless it all is. I just miss going to support my team, until Ashley sells I don't think I'll ever get the feeling of 2016-19 again despite even that's occasional shitness.
  20. Went 8. Teetering on a 7. I posted in the Bruce thread that I can never bring myself to want us to lose. This coming season is the most apathetic I've felt or anyone I know's felt going into it. Mixture of takeover nonsense, Bruce, Bruceball, shite players and more Ashley. I'm an 7-8 though as since March 2020 when COVID hit, football as a whole has been pretty much dead to me. No fans, no soul, no nowt. They're coming back so that brings another dimension to COVID-era football, if it was another behind closed doors season I'd probably be closer to a 9-10. But I know I'll watch the games on TV and get infuriated at watching Shelvey, Hendrick and Krafth attempt to play football and I know I'll get excited when ASM picks up the ball or Wilson puts a great finish away. That feeling is still there. Don't think it'll ever go away. My activity on here reflects my feelings tbh, 2016-2019 was probably one of the most active posters in the football board due to Rafa and wanting to talk about the club and team through the week up to going to the match on the Saturday, but that's just gone for me. Outside of the 90 minutes, its all just meh to me.
  21. Good to see some general normality and fans back in staidums, I guess.
  22. Most unenthusiastic for a season starting as I've ever been. Personally can't bring myself to want us to lose though. Yet another season sitting on my arse, at home or uni, watching matches when I’m around in passing. Getting a modicum of excitement if we score or look good and not really caring when it’s bad. Just apathy.
  23. Don't think Lemina is that bad, he was decent for Southampton in the first few months of 17/18 but then just tailed off. Him and Willock coming in would improve our options, getting rid of Hayden though and keeping Shelvey and Hendrick is absolutely brainless. Would take Gallagher too, also surprised no one's gone in for Matheus Pereira yet.
