  1. Cardiff away at a 12:30 kick off.
  2. I know it's probably clutching at straws and that story is one we've heard so many times, us not moving "quick enough", but that article reads like pure conjecture and assumptions. "Newcastle haven't made a bid yet, therefore Tottenham are now favourites. They're in the Champions League y'knar."
  3. Whilst I think we still need obviously Kenedy and a RB to compete with Yedlin, if that happened I'd say that's a decent summer.
  4. Piss off, man. I fucked up on the wording. Leave me alone.

    Rafa Benítez

I actually love him. Can't imagine the club without him. Don't want to.

  8. He's watermarked it n'al. Oh fuck sake, was thinking of nicking and putting this on meself.
  9. So we apparently bid £20m. They want £27m? Just get it done ffs, why's it so fucking difficult? Hate this club at times. Set of nonces.
  10. It's not. It's not Douglas either, it's the other guy whose name everyone forgets.
  11. German outlet "Kicker" or something like that saying Mönchengladbach are close to signing him. The Chronicle said Mönchengladbach fucked off. Hmm.
  12. According to reports aye Mönchengladbach have walked away. Reason they're wanting circa £27m (or €, not entirely sure) is because of a 20% sell on clause to Lyon in his contract. If the Mitro deal is already done in principle which reports are saying it is we should just stick whatever Nice want for him on the table and get it done which should be easy as the guy wants to play for us apparently. But we're a set of weird tight bastards.
  13. I think an okay comparison would be Gayle pre-hamstring injury for us. Similar good movement which I'm sure is what has caught Rafa's eye. Much better footballer than Gayle, and able to run at defenders in a way Gayle isn't imo. Can play wide as well Yeah obviously, just trying to think of a comparison that wouldn't get overly laughed at. An inferior version of Lacazette was another. sorry if that came off as dickish, it wasn't meant to. Agree on the movement, Rafa will be all over it. I honestly didnt see him as a natural goalscorer but he's obviously improved on that Nah man no need to apologise, didn't appear dickish at all. Scored 21 in all comps, 4 of those in 1 game away from home against Guingamp I think. I've seen the highlights of that game and the finishes are great.

  16. Oooh, a thread. I want this guy, a signing that'll get you excited about watching play is what transfer windows should be about. Hope to God we're serious and Nice accept an offer soon. Much rather have Pléa than Rondon; although both would be good. As long as we get the Frenchman.
  17. The button though. What is the point of that To make it look better, for one. Are you joking? It ruins the kit imo. They've done it on Man City's home kit this season and it completely ruins the kit. Just put a longer collar with more buttons in or just don't have any at all. Horrid Not a fan of the NUFC 1996 grandad collar I assume? In hindsight, I worded that awfully. "Longer collar with more buttons" ffs.
  18. In the 13 games he was here Townsend recorded 4 goals and 2 assists. Across a season that's just under 12 goals and 6 assists. Ritchie this year in the PL with 35 games recorded 3 goals and 5 assists. Admittedly, he probably would've had more of each with the bad luck of the few times he's hit the frame of the goal and our strikers being donkeys when the ball is presented on a plate. Still, I'd probably go with the view that under Rafa, Townsend is probably a bit of an upgrade. I'm not denying he had a good spell here, but it was only for not even half a season, he fucked off as soon as he got the chance and then reverted back to his usual self when moving to Palace. I don't doubt Rafa couldn't get the best out of him, but I don't see him as an upgrade when you consider the wider impact to the team. I think he's less limited than Ritchie going forward in particular. Going back the other way I don't think Townsend will graft as much as Ritchie does but I suppose that depends on what right back Rafa wants to bring in to put behind him.

Still, I'd probably go with the view that under Rafa, Townsend is probably a bit of an upgrade. Or, in Townsend’s purple patch for the season he managed 1 more goal than Ritchie and 3 fewer assists. Just saying Townsend may have an unproductive 2/3 of a year and his numbers might turn out similar. ...or he may not. I know it's a risk like, you know what you're going to get from Ritchie. But I think Townsend is less limited than Ritchie in the final 3rd; Ritchie doesn't run at his man which is the most vehemently frustrating thing about him whilst Townsend does. If it's a risk Rafa wants to take then I'm all for it. Providing the club allow him to take it.

  23. All of those are naff imo with the possible exception of Sevilla. Monaco's is ruined by that pointless one button flap thing that Nike have put on a few of their kits this season.
