http://www.nufc.com/html/2015-16html/2015-11-21leicester-h.html We lost to Leicester at home 0-3 in an utterly dire performance. Fans against each other, discontent, shite team, awful circumstances. Felt like Ashley was gonna be here until he died. 2 years on the club is now unrecognisable to what it was then. At least in some fashion. This takeover gets finished the Ashley years are probably going to be looked back on and recited as probably the worst period in this club's history. I wasn't around for the period 1988-1991 but surely the apathy and disgusting way the club has been run fans have had to endure under Ashley is worse?

On the money.

Minhosa, seeing as how you've got more clue about the way businesses are purchased than most on here, are you confident this will go through despite several journalists disputing about the bid and it's worth/structure last night?

PCP haven't denied anything this whole way through. They aren't Ashley/Bishop pawns. Why would they break their NDA? They haven’t said a damn thing about anything. If anyone was going to break the silence it’s going to be Ashley. So what does he get out of leaking that there’s a 300m bid in and then leaking more s**** about rejecting it? Has there actually been a bid at all?? If PCP are indeed serious about buying us, it will only be the first club statement where they make any sort of public comment. Is an NDA not an agreement to not disclose information from the club's books, and not progress of the deal as a whole? Could be wrong like. Yes, I think there has been a bid, far too many journalists and news outlets have said there's been a bid for there not be a bid of at least some sort. I understand the reason for scepticism, but you're taking it to unnecessary lengths here imo.

Because he's a cunt. It's just worth the roll of the dice.

What bollocks they churning out? FFP? Clinging onto to the HMRC case? The HMRC case is their great hope for us being f***ed over, which surely would have put off potential owners if there was any real danger (under the legal advisement any interested buyers would have realistically sought). Beyond that, just the usual; careful what you wish for, another Venky's, yada yada. I think it's dawned on a lot of them, though, that if this comes off there's a very real chance of them never being able to get close to us for the foreseeable future. Unless, of course, that German takeover bid eventually comes to pass If we take off under new ownership we'll be light years ahead of them. They've got a couple more seasons down in the lower leagues yet. Ha ha. Cunts.

I wish I fully understood either of these things. To what extent does owning a PL football club protect a company's financial assets? Do they take all their investments out of whatever they're in, and shove them in the club because it's theoretically more sustainable? And how does owning a PL club represent a state and how does it effect political power? To answer your second question, I'll use ADUG and Man City as the example. The purchase of MCFC as well as the plethora of clubs owned in the City Football Group is actually just, well, reputation laundering. Buying a football club buys you an advertising space, seen here at NUFC with Sports Direct and at Man City with Etihad Airways and Etihad Holidays. It also buys leverage with the press who need access to your stadium, training ground and players as well as allowing you to talk about the fantastic Abu Dhabi and UAE values and draw the attention away from the utterly grim record on human rights and the treatment of workers. All in all, it gave the royalty in Abu Dhabi leverage in the UK.

I think so, based on nothing other than I don't feel Staveley would represent shithouse owners/be a shithouse owner, and Rafa's demeanour since the Liverpool post match interview. He's looked as happy as a pig in shit since then and he knows about these people I reckon. And if he's happy with them, that's got to be a hugely positive sign?
-
Yep. Here's a Reuters article. They're decent aren't they? Anyway, here: https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-soccer-newcastle-united-offer/staveleys-pcp-makes-300-million-pound-bid-for-newcastle-united-source-idUKKBN1DK2H9

£350m should do it.
-
Basically, no one has a clue. But a bid is surely a big step forward with regards to completion of the deal.

http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,90600.msg6535527.html#msg6535527 Well Dave, let's see if I was being a mad bastard after all then.

Wonder if it's the club that's leaked this then, to try and smoke out anyone else interested? That s*** paper was right?!?! f***ing hell, it was! Has the takeover been confirmed like?

That has to be a wind up.
-
Is there no chance either one of those two lads can be back for Saturday?
-
Terrible effort.

Shipped four to a top side, lost a game they should be winning at home and failed to beat a side struggling down the bottom of the table. Interestingly similar to us. Draw then.

Before beating a very poor West Ham team, they'd lost 3 on the bounce.
