Honestly though, where does this s*** come from? We were IN the f***ing Champions League when he played here, how is a desire to see the club back there a 'divine right'? We're not Rochdale for f***'s sake, we've done it before. Newcastle fans simply hope for the best, like every football fan does. However we have challenged for the title and have been in the Champions League, that's the difference. Genuinely no clue. Geoff Shreeves tbf to him said that he spoke to some Newcastle fans on a train after the Brighton game, said that they said that we don't believe we have a divine right to anything, we just want to see the club strive to be the best we can be. And that's the truth, the CL and thinking we have a right to the top 6 is bollocks, but we've seen what this club can do when everything moves in the right direction and it can be there.

Is it not included in the fee, hence why it's so ridiculously inflated? Last time I looked he wanted nearly 400m plus the debt. The club is worth about 250m plus debt is about right imo. It isn't a global brand and many millions will be needed to fix the squad for the long term ie playing in Europe. I don't even know how much he wants for the club, it's changed so many times. Is it £350m? 1/4th to 1/5th of what Liverpool is worth then? Seems cheap to me. I feel the same way. Also I agree with Kanji, I think £325m-£375m Ashley will take, just hoping Staveley/the people Staveley represents are willing to fork out that much.

Liverpool have knocked her back twice, even after she offered £1.2bn. I'm still not clear whether it's her offering £1.2bn or she's doing it on behalf of some other party. If she is looking to buy a club personally then she'd want Liverpool I'd have thought, since that's the club she supports. Why would she want to spend a daft amount on a club which she doesn't follow? I´m sure she represents someone else.. She doesn´t buy things to own herself, she buy stuff for her clients. No. Souness failed, Roeder failed, Allardyce failed, Keegan was constructively dismissed, Kinnear failed, Shearer was handed a sinking ship, Hughton's sacking was a disgrace, Pardew was a complete cunt, his record post 2011/12 is almost ignored by the press. It's baffling. And fans from the outside fail to grasp how he belittled expectations and forced many supporters including some on here to walk away and lose interest in the club altogether. For me personally, that's unfathomable, but the fact Pardew drove some fans to that extent is fucking sacrilege. McClaren failed.
