  1. I'd happily take any trophy because it would mean something at the club was very right. But, to play the game, Europa League would be top of my list. I feel like there's unfinished business with that competition in my lifetime (obviously it was a better format in previous iterations). It'd also be kinda cool winning the same competition exactly 50 years after we last won it, with nothing in-between. Anyone know where the final is next season? I quite like the Europa League in general, only gripe with it is it being played on Thursdays which moves your PL games to Sundays, but I thoroughly enjoyed it last time out. Don't understand some clubs like Everton chucking it, if you win it it's a path into the Champions League. Final is in fucking Baku in Azerbaijan next year
  2. Aye, I feel pretty much the same way too. You'll always have the top 3: Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea, clubs who we couldn't compete with financially even if we get large sums of money thrown at us from the outset of a takeover. That 4th spot though is contested between Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal, who if we get huge amounts of money we may be able to compete with in terms of finance. Spurs aren't mega rich, Liverpool aren't either and Arsenal have the money but just don't spend it as Kroenke is content with that 4th spot it seems. It's all ifs, buts and maybes at this stage though. I'm desperate for updates.
  3. Good read, didn't know Rafa's Valencia sides were so low scoring.
  4. TV picks for the last gameweek of December and the whole of January are announced on Friday. Can't see any of ours being picked apart from Man City (a) (which I hope they don't, been planning to go that for ages). But you never know.

    On this day...

Also a year ago on this day we hammered Preston 6-0 in the League Cup, probably one of the most dominant Newcastle performances I've ever seen, even when it was 11 v 11. Up there with the best performances I've seen at SJP live.
  6. Harsh on Wolves but they should've won it in the 90 minutes.
  7. Penalties. Wolves were brilliant there.
  8. Wolves defensively were outstanding there. Only seen the 2nd half mind but they were brilliant. Should've won that 0-3 in the 90 had they took their clear cut chances.
  9. He wants shooting for missing that.
  10. Fuck sake. Was looking forward to an AFTV meltdown.
  11. Should've been 0-1 to Wolves, there.
  12. Only just put the Man City game on, but Wolves look solid thus far.
  13. Keeper was fucking terrible there, mind.
  14. No De Bruyne or Sane today though. The former especially has been fantastic this season, a good reason why City have been so dominant. Ofcourse, we're still going to get dicked, just the dicking might not just be so hard if we stay organised Genuinely don't think we'll get mauled by anyone this season. By mauled I mean conceding more than 3.
  15. If we ever got into Europe again I'd love a replication of the 95/96 lettering.
  16. With Rafa we just won't go on a horrendous run to drag us into the mess like Pardew took us on in 2012/13 and 2013/14, and Carver in his little aids-inducing spell.
  17. Who the fuck thought that that was a good idea?
  18. Kane and Cabaye tackles would come under the excessive force law imo.
