  1. Then they go bust, hopefully taken over by their communities or maybe, just maybe it’s time club owners put their money into their businesses as that’s what they are, in order to keep them going. Many owners already do this though in the EFL. The conception of owners buying clubs to make money only comes from NUFC fans amazingly enough. I’m not sure of your point Neesy? For me, maybe the game crashing and going bust and restarting is the best outcome of all. I’d love to see a live game on the telly, but right now, even games behind closed doors just to finish a season so LFC can lift their trophy in front of a social media audience or so clubs can get some TV money for example, would, in the grand scheme of things, be selfish and irresponsible. Not when they can just void the season, which is fair to all and means all clubs will share the same situation. Now if they played games behind closed doors for TV money to pay staff... I agree, but I don't want COVID to last as long as it will take to bust Man City.
  2. A big problem there is that they don’t have the money to buy the club off him. Kenyon has never had the money and been trying to find the money for 2 years. If he was going to get that money, he would have by now. No chance he’s getting investors in this market now. How is that a problem? If they had the money to buy the club, Ashley wouldn't be able to demand the clauses.
  3. He deserves to play for a top team, there is no doubt about that.
  4. Every keeper makes mistakes, and those mistakes are more prescient when the keeper is still active. When we loo back, nostalgically, we overlook such things. Maybe because you're no longer comparing them to what could be better. That's why I say Dubs is probably a better keeper than Given [without considering the errors]
  5. As long as I can have a go at the Greeks! We are born gay, some just end up turning straight. Greece is the word! No we're not. We are simply born with the capacity to love. For some reason society dictates that you can't love another man if you don't like shit on your dick. It's fucked up.
  6. Has made some errors. But still a great keeper. I think without those errors he'd [arguably] be even better than Given.
  7. It's like footballers are a different species. It's okay that unemployment is rising faster than ever, because these creatures can go straight back to their shitty £7.50 p/h jobs, once it's all over. But dare to suggest that somebody on a couple of hundred grand a week, goes without for a while and you're inhumane.
  8. Genuinely couldn't give a fuck, right now, about the future of soccer.
  9. Matty Longstaff Paid 'peanuts', no performance bonuses, no new contract etc etc Not every premier league player is earning massive money (albeit most are) I believe Matty earns little enough to qualify for the govt's £2500 cap.
  10. I don’t understand how people ever gave him credit. It’s all down to him working in the Middle East. The chances of him coming across such high profile people were very slim. People think Dubai and the Middle East consists of a tiny village where everyone knows everyone. On top of that the chances of him meeting high profile, and then talking to him about such matters is even less likely. Let’s not forget that many dental procedures that take some time, out you into a position where you cannot actually talk. Do the Saudis offer free dental treatment on the NHS? He could quite easily be dentist to the rich and famous, kind of like a orthodontal Dr Drew. Rich and powerful people (even people who aren't rich and powerful ffs) don't tell their dentist confidential business information. He's an attention seeking fool. Sadly the press and a lot of fans are even bigger fools. Work is not the only opportunity dentists get to socialise, y'knaa. I've met more dentists at Lords than I have in any surgery.
  11. I really struggle to imagine too many players complaining about an enforced pay cut.

  13. But how will I let the world know I'm a good person if I don't raise awareness of the twats? Well this is precisely it. You let the world know you're a good person by NOT raising awareness of the twats. Exactly right. Because interaction with them fuels the algorithms within various social media platforms that doesn't care if it's good or bad interaction. All interaction is considered good for traffic. Make your own posts that don't tag them but let your displeasure known. My point was more in relation to people sharing their nonsense, simply to declare it as nonsense.

  15. Great goals that never were Rob Lee v Brentford Was that the one from his own half where the ref blew just as he struck the ball? Aye. Blew up for offside against Brentford.
  16. This is probably the best time for the takeover. New owners can spend as much as they like on new players and we won't be hit by FFP.
  17. Why apply that to footballers and not say companies where the execs get paid millions each year? Why trust one drug and not the other? That's politics, innit.
  18. Actors won't be getting paid for doing nowt. Neither will golfers, I expect.

  20. Harm their money laundering operation, more like.

Thought so. Is it simply a New castle? I went for the 'Not in home' angle.

  23. If you were a billionaire you wouldn't pay your employees? And it's the employees that are the greedy fuckers in this scenario? I'm an advocate of a system that would prevent me from becoming a billionaire, don't worry.
  24. “But the thing with this current situation is, it shouldn’t be left up to the lads to make individual donations. The non-playing staff wage bill isn’t that big. The club should fork out for that or the fucking owners should; they’re richer than any of us.” That’s pretty much exactly what I’ve been saying and you disagreed with it? The last point is that the FA and Premier League should mandate pay cuts. You disagreed because you don't want anything taking off the poor souls. I would have thought the left wing position is that nobody should have that much money, money that they cannot possibly spend. Must change my definition of socialism to "hoard as much money as possible as long as you can claim to have earned it" It's fucking nonsense. Bob the doorman has to try and get by on 80% of his 15k a year but heaven forbid the bloke earning 277 times as much for kicking a ball has to take a drop. Any cuts, in any industry should start at the top as those are the people best placed to absorb it. That should never need explaining to anybody.
