  1. Willock been absolutely cracking today. We've clearly missed him .
  2. Some ball that ! Gordon on the right doesn't work does it đŸ¤£
  3. Brave call by Howe as he'll get pelters if we don't perform . Hope big Joe and little Joe take advantage of the lack of Ben White . Howay The Lads !!
  4. Didn't Amorim do some sort of coaching apprenticeship under Mourinho at Manchester United ?
  5. Amorim is a hugely dynamic and potentially exciting appointment for Manchester United if it comes off. Highly rated and watched by several of the biggest clubs in the world. The caveats are he's only ever managed in Portugal and English football is completely different. The amount of managers that fail to understand the demands of our league is legion. Also it's a job that has seen off some of the most decorated managers in the game and is Amorim ready for that kind of scrutiny and pressure? It's very much a project signing that will need time, patience and a complete rebuild for it to truly to work. Expect the 3-4-3 diamond to become the in vogue formation if he is a success.

  7. Isn't he going to be knighted soon ? Manchester United would love a Sir Gareth. Hope so it would be hilarious, expert at throwing a game from a winning position, he'd get an easy ride from the media though.
  8. Yes and no . Souness was given stewardship of one of the best young squads in the country. That's not the case at Manchester United. I also think Keane did a decent job for that mob down the road Souness also had no connection with the club wheeras Keane does understand and respect those aspects at Manchester United. It'll never happen and I doubt Keane would chance it.
  9. My hot take is if they can't get their number one target they should give it to Roy Keane until the end of the season and use him to sort out the bad eggs at the club and reset the standards. If he makes a go of it great from a Manchester United perspective and if not he's served a purpose.
  10. Hope Thomas Frank doesn't get it. He's a bloody good manager.
  11. Hope you're right m8. To me it seems like we're drifting rather than building or gaining momentum. I also think (and I don't necessarily mean you here Heron) lots of us were so scarred by the Ashley era that we're still somewhat influenced by that in our analysis of the club now and our thinking. We've one win in 6 games and that was an awful game against Wimbledon. I hope this is just a bump in the road to success rather than us hitting the off ramp.
  12. We keep talking about a proper DM but there are players here that could do that job in the short term, especially in certain games. The system and the way Eddie wants us to play is without a DM. He wants the flat three. Anytime anyone criticizes some of Eddie's decisions it's always reduced back to PSR and the players available but he sets them out to play this way, these are his tactics, his coaching and his set plays and subs etc. I like Eddie I think he's done great things here and I would love him to be a success here but this past calendar year it's not really working as well as it did and that's worth analyzing and he's not blameless in that.
  13. Got to say starting to lose a bit of faith in Howe. The players seem to be regressing, today the game plan was atrocious as was the 2nd half restart. What game can we say this season the tactics have worked ? Plan A isn't working and we have no Plan B . Yes we've been restricted by psr in terms of personnel but we seem utterly welded to this 4-3-3 that you can drive a wagon train through the middle of . He's like an A.I. with his subs and it's always like for like. Also set pieces are atrocious. Then you take into account the away form is the shits. Really like Eddie and want this to work but he needs to improve and fast.
  14. The mad thing is Chelsea are absolutely bricking it . We've been crap but they're terrified we're going to get something. Our mentality just isn't there at the moment. Before this calendar year we'd have been really on them and in the game. Our moments are more coming from Chelsea mistakes than genuine pressure.
  15. Had to make the pass. It's like our players who were so crafty and sharp a couple of seasons ago are all on sleeping tablets
  16. Is it Tindall who does the set pieces? We're shit at them attacking wise and shit at them defending wise.
  17. Don't mind Willock for Barnes the day like. Barnes has done wonders for Gordon's left sided guarantee the day
  18. I'd be fining players for bookings like Tonali's just now. It's fucking stupid.
  19. Don't know why Howe has never tried Willock there.
  20. To be fair Guehi's pace would in theory allow the defence to be higher and can only figure the plan longer term was for him and Botman to be the starting pair for next season .
  21. Joelinton only player looking to win his battles physically and with a bit of passion. Barnes has been a coward on the left. Guimares looking as slow as Burn and Schar the day.
