Good to see Schmeichel get straight up after a fair old collision with Benteke. Plenty of keepers would've rolled about for 5 minutes there.

Absolute pondlife! How they think abusing players is gona help is beyond me! Tossers! -
I remember a performance, West Ham i think, at the end of our relegation season when he was pinging first time passes all over. Maybe I've made itbetter in my memory but he looked quality that day. It was his debut i think.

That sounds like an absolutely pointless meeting if true. Hopefully it's just Rafa keeping his cards close to his chest.

Probably more of a bargaining point. If she knows Ashley isn't going to invest in January, there is a good chance the club will be relegated and the value of the club will be massively damaged. So That gives her a strong bargaining point and can just say that she shouldn't have to make a purchase that is reliant of her to invest additional money to make the basic price she paid him worth her while. I've explained that really badly. No i understand what you're saying. It seems that neither of them wants the responsibility of the January investment though, which is a worry for me. I'm no business expert but you'd think if Staveley had huge financial backing then we'd get a situation where the squad got some heavy investment to guarantee survival as much as realistically possible, whether the takeover had gone through or not. That isn't mentioned in that article so maybe Staveley doesn't have the financial muscle that we're all hoping for? From what's been reported, it sounds like the 'heavy investment' that is required is only likely to be about £30m because the takeover isn't going to be completed in time so we are relying on loans from Ashley. If that's the case I don't blame PCP for worrying about the very real chance of relegation. That investment should have been made in the summer to guarantee safety. If it is only £30m then i think we're probably f***ed anyway. That barely buys you 2 decent players. Unless we could pull off some very clever loans then it wouldn't be enough IMO. It seems to be very much common sense for both PCP and Ashley to repeatedly talk about a relatively small amount being made available, like £30M. The real amount may well be (has to be, really) a fair bit larger. If the real amount was known, logic dictates, then player prices quoted at us would be much, much higher, we would be held to ransom, really. SO, I am (in consequence) VERY HAPPY to have this £30M figure quoted, and re-quoted, in any and all Media !! Fair point! ? -

I'd seriously hope not but I guess you never know. WBA win at home to Man U West Ham win at Stoke Palace win at Leicester Swansea win at Everton Only a West Ham win realistic? TBH i hadn't looked at the fixtures, only the league table, so maybe you're right. The worry is that other teams seem to be picking up points here and there and we're not getting any. Our form is disgusting. -

Worried about this. We could be bottom after this round of games if we get hammered. -

That article suggests that neither Staveley or Ashley are willing to invest in January to significantly increase our chances of survival. I know there are no guarantees when signing players but improving even just 2 or 3 of our weak links would make a massive difference to us. If neither want to protect their investment maybe they're both as bad as each other? -
He's a great passer but only on his right foot when he's given time and space. Close him down quickly or make him turn onto his left foot then he's pretty useless. He was great in the Championship before the other teams finally worked this out. He's been wank since.

One of the great things about this takeover finally going through will be the fact all of the ITK bellends will have to find another way to get their attention fix. Hopefully they'll choose something not NUFC related. -

He did that loads against Leicester which is why i had a go at him on Saturday night. Good footballers don't just punt the ball aimlessly towards a 5"7 striker. To be honest though i'd rather he was just good at the stuff he's meant to be good at - being brave, anticipating danger, winning headers and not making rash decisions. -
Because the squad is full of players who aren't good enough. I'm sure Rafa loves that he has to choose from Diame or Ayozé in the 10 or play Joselu as CF. People keep asking why this player is playing/not playing, he only has a squad of mainly Championship players. If we had Hazard to bring on off the bench then maybe he might make game changing subs Not sure why you mentioned Hazard, that was a bit weird but never mind. I'm aware we've got a poor squad but that doesn't mean you can't question his team selections. I love Rafa but he's been poor in that respect recently IMO.

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Away Day Gadgie replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
It's gona be solid for us to get the quality we need in January even with a huge transfer budget. We can't get fringe players from the top teams as they need big squads to go for trophies come the end of the season, we'll stuggle to attract players from the teams placed 6th-12th because of the s*** position we're in ourselves, and our relegation rivals won't want to sell to us. I can see us having to take a punt on foreign-based players who want a crack at the Premier League or maybe loan some young players who can't get a game for the big clubs. Both of those are massive risks, especially coming into our predicament. -

? Sounds slightly improved compared to how he's played recently then. Hopefully he settles down. -
Didn't see the game but as soon as i saw the teamsheet i feared the worst. Why does Rafa always have to pick at least 1 knacker to start in every game? Diame is f***ing atrocious we're almost playing with 10 men with him in the side. I honestly don't understand what he's in the side for.

Couldn't get to the game tonight, not many mentions of his performance bar 1 or 2. Any sign of him looking like a good defender yet? Or still just a "good footballer"? Not on the wind up btw, genuinely interested to hear how he got on alongside Lascelles. -
I think he turned down a move to Everton in the summer because his wife wouldn't leave London. Can't see her fancying Newcastle.

Sorry lads but this guy is s****. Sick of hearing that he's a "good footballer" - is he f*** man! -
Aye Martins declared himself unfit when Shearer thought he was ok to play. Too many players simply didn't give a fuck. Owen being the worst of the lot considering he was the highest profile, highest payed and the captain. I'll always hate him for that season.
-
He adapted into a role behind Martins & Viduka. Was glorious for about 6 games. Even start of the relegation season I'm sure he had 1 in 2 upto the New Year then just gave up. Aye strange that. I've always been of the opinion that Fergie told him there was a contract there and a nice warm place on the bench for him if he "made sure he didn't get injured". He was a manipulative old bastard and probably enjoyed watching our downfall.
