We'll probably get something boring and miles away. Southampton away i'm going for. -

Has the geordie dentist not got any hot info for us? Surely Staveley will be due her 6 month check up soon? -
Just had to scrape myself off the floor when i saw their score.

Slightly frustrated that we started really positively, took the lead, then seemed to stop pressing and moving the ball quickly, in hindsight it was probably a better choice to keep it up rather than sit off as Chelsea looked a bit sloppy early on. It's always difficult against sides of that quality though so maybe it wouldn't have made a difference. Ritchie at wing back was a disaster and hopefully we won't see that again. Lejuene looks really slow over the first couple of yards and doesn't appear to have the anticipation to make up for it at the moment. I'm hoping he'll come good but i don't think there are many signs he will. Diame was abysmal, i've said this a few times but he should never start as he looks knackered after half an hour every time he does, please never again Rafa! Positives were - Darlow - Made a couple of saves that Elliott definately wouldn't have. If he can cut out the crazy errors from last season he's our best option. Manquillo - Did ok i thought, looks much better at RB. Waiting for someone to point out every mistake he made though Gayle - Another goal and 90 mins. Our best finisher looks fit again. Murphy - Wasted a couple of good counter attacks but there's definitely something there and he seems to be realising he can do it in the top division. I'm know i'm clutching at straws a bit with those positives but i think it's important not to get too down about losing away to the Champions.

Sourness with his usual craic, hardest job hes ever had, fans too demanding, need to be big player to play there, crisis always around the corner He tries to push this line at every possible opportunity the bitter old prick! In reality, he inherited a very good squad, quickly dimantled it, replaced good players with absolute dogshit and spent a fortune doing it. He used to play Shola on the left wing FFS Would love someone to pull him up on this at some point but i doubt it will ever happen.

I'm sure that was the season when he said we could push for a Champion League place after we made our summer signings (De Jong, Riviere, Cabella, Perez etc) then quickly back tracked about 4 games into the season and said we'd do well to stay up or should be happy with mid table or something. Boiled my p*ss at the time! He was smoking crack if he said that. Like now... we desperately needed a striker. I think Cisse scored 2 league goals the previous season, Remy went to Chelsea. We brought in Riviere..... awful at CB too. And CM. And RB. He was too cowardly to fight Ashley and he couldn't fight the crowd either so he slipped out the back door. We were due another crap run of results and it had just started when he left. But he did well to fluke those 25 or so points he got. SMC and Carver both proved to be even less able than Pardew. I think he'll keep them safe for this season and get sacked next season. I think that's what made the situation even more frustrating afterwards, who he was replaced with. I was sick of people saying, "You would've been better off keeping Pardew, he did a good job" Did he fuck! He was just slightly less shit than those 2 morons. And the rot had well and truely set in by time he left aswell. As far as i'm concerned he played a part in our relegation, same as he will have if Palace go down this season.

I didn't know that about Luton! Absolutely desperate for us to draw them away in the cup sometime now, love the shithole grounds.

This is probably just about where I am atm. Until I hear it's broken down I'm assuming it's still on. And if it's not been scrapped yet after a couple of weeks of bids being made then logic dictates they can't be that far apart. If there was no chance of a compromise because the valuations were so far apart it would have collapsed a while ago. I'm crossing my fingers hugely, I'm not really thinking too much about it but it makes sense to me in my own little brain! It's a lot nicer than assuming the worst. Hope I'm right but only time will tell. I'm finding it easier to assume the worst and hope to wake up one morning and go absolutely mental if it happens only because I don't think I could take the disappointment if i convince myself (and tell everyone I know) that it's gonna happen and then it goes tits up. Rational logic would suggest that things are still ongoing, and if it was anything other than NUFC and MA I would say surely it'll get done. Just can't quite take that final step in my mind with everything thats happened before (well I did for a few weeks but was daydreaming far too much about an ambitious NUFC). It's not that I think it won't happen just trying to cushion myself against the blow if not.....ah f*** it the clubs gonna be dead to me if it doesn't happen and Rafa walks anyway, it's gotta happen this time hasn't it Hope the training complex is ripped out and redone fit for the 21st century, the academy is properly invested in, the Sports Direct signage is ripped up and set on fire, the stadium is given a good clean, we maximise our commercial earning power, tours/marketing abroad to help merchandising etc, f*** it lets rename nine to Shearer's bar even, I want every last thing that c*** has done to our club to be reversed. Lets even try and get the letters he auctioned off back from the buyers. Great post and very close to how i (and probably a lot of other fans) feel about the whole situation ?
