The original Guardian article still says that the buyers expect it to go through this week still. It’s a storm in a tea cup.

Surely they do though? Aren't the owner's test conducted within a specific time-frame? Also the exclusivity supposedly ends mid-May. Do they not have a deadline to get it done by? Exclusivity isn’t a thing now that contracts are signed, according to Caulkin, so that’s not a problem. There’s no deadline.

They are saying this evidence shows a direct link to them, not supposed involvement but direct. They said that in the French court also and didn't win the case Yep exactly. It’s a last minute scare story. Last throw of the dice. If you think it through logically... the buyers are still saying they’re confident, the PL definitely won’t be sharing info with journalists, so this story is coming from whoever is trying to derail it.

Just all of a sudden come to light days before a takeover is due to go through. It will all have been a part of the french criminal investigation. I just don’t buy it. Plus, the two journalists saying it are STILL saying it’s expected to go through this week regardless.

I literally don’t see how anything has really changed. The evidence of their involvement has been there since day one. It seems like a last minute scare story to me. Even the story itself says it’s still going to go through this week.

Seems like bullshit to me. Sure they might have received some more stuff, but it won’t stop the deal. The article says as much.

I kind of agree, there's been a few on here mention something they've heard, been slated and basically branded as Odin mkII I don't get it, if someone says something, take it with a pinch of salt, even if they're right, it means nowt until it's announced officially anyway. That's because almost every single one of these pieces of "info" are absolute bollocks and people are tired of it, tetchy, and bored of being fed lies from every single direction. You can't expect people not to get annoyed when another piece of ITK crap appears and turns out to be, yet again, a load of old horseshit. Spot on, sick of the speculation and the so called ITK , complete dreamers and bullshitters I agree, the ITK crap is tedious. ?

I don’t think there’s a clique as such. Most posters are absolutely sound. There’s certainly a herd mentality if something is posted that people don’t agree with though. No different to Twitter and co in that sense. There’s not a lot of room for a nuanced opinion. But overall it’s a great site ?

I get that. But Caulkin, Duncan Castles, Chris Waugh... they’ve all reported similar and we know for a fact they speak to the buying side regularly. It just seems like rehashed news from other reputable sources to me. (The same way they report on transfer talk) Aye, it's clear that that's how it seems to you different people put different values on news sources, though, and while I'm not saying that nufc.com carries the same weight as the BBC or Sky Sports, sometimes the same story appearing on a different source is enough to change the emphasis. For me, nufc.com have always been conservative enough in the past to make me think that them posting what they did in the middle of the night on a Sunday must represent a significant development. It's fair enough if you don't see it the same way. ?

I don’t know much about NUFC.com but what exactly in that paragraph is new information? I thought that’s what we’d been told was going to happen by pretty much every reputable journalist?

Firstly, about 10 posts above the one I posted people were speculating saying “does anyone believe it’s done and just waiting for an announcement”. Then the post I quoted said “if it’s done”. I replied saying it isn’t done, and then proceeded to tell you the truth, as backed up by Wullie, about how I know beyond reasonable doubt that it isn’t done yet (at least not as of Friday night). There’s no claiming to be in the know...there’s just facts from the only journalists worth listening to. Fucking bizarre thing to get het up over when you have RS and other posters in this thread regularly spouting any old bullshit that have no basis in fact at all. But, go for it. Get pissy about someone sharing some info from a journalist. ?

What you don't appear to be grasping is that it's possible that the PL have completed their checks but that it isn't public knowledge yet. Just because you've been told something by journalists close to the buyers, doesn't necessarily mean that is exactly where things stand. I'd also doubt that the first public statement comes from GC; it'll come more NUFC if anyone. I give up I think it’s pretty fair to be 99% assured of where things are when that info comes directly from the buyers side, like. You know, rather than just “having a feeling that it’s done and dusted” like some posts have said in the last 24 hours ? Your mistake was coming on here like some ITK when all you did was say what was already public knowledge and what we all knew anyway. FFS man...my post was specifically in response to someone trying to claim that it was done. So I shared what I was told on Friday by the only trusted journalists we have. Give it a rest.
