    England

I really can't be arsed with England tbh. Southgate was boring as hell, but he had good young players and generally played them in the right position. Team spirit was great and all Tuchel had to do was take thjhe handbrake off and let them do what they are good at. Instead we've got a 35 year old past it Walker, a 35 year old past it Henderson and a team that have no idea what their tactics are or what the idea is. Kane is scoring goals but his legs are gone and will struggle at the world cup. I am seriously not optimistic.
  2. I don't agree at all. Eddie has bedded all new players in slowly. Getting them fit, used to our team ethos, used to the players around trhem, our tactics. It's likely Pope will still start for some time and gently introduce any new GK slowly.
  3. Probably impossible to do. Absolutely impossible, but you can still dream
  4. Had to go out earlier - the suspense is not exactly killing, is it?. Saw two magpies. Then another two a few minutes later - got to mean two great signings???
  5. I trhink we'd all love to see such a player, but there's so few around these days. I actually don't really rate Dibling that much (despite his hype)
  6. My thoughts on the Mbuemo rumour (is there any real proof?) is that he's a 25 year old at the peak of his game, will command at least £50m fee, high wages and 1st team action. Nothing wrong with that except for a minor detail called Murphy. He's a 30 year old at the peak of his game, had an amazing season and costs a fraction of Mbuemo's wages. I'm all for the need for quality of depth of the squad but do we really need to replace Murphy right now? wouldn't it be better to buy a much cheaper, younger, 'up and coming' right winger (a bit like Dibling but not him) give him a yeat to be Howe'd and then gradually replace Murphy.
  7. That's mad! Just looked up the population of Newcastle: The city of Newcastle upon Tyne had a population of approximately 300,200 in 2021, So, 200 unwashed stayed at home?
  8. I live in Plymouth now so could only watch the parade on YouTube. Words almost fail me. The passion, the tens of thousands (How many tens? the joy, the scarves, that banner of Sir Eddie, the players. One city, one club. United. Maggpies are Massive!!! We are seriously going places - the future is so bright. I love this club.
  9. This is so bang on. Eddie has to play it to the team before kick off. No other words are needed.
  10. Thanks so much for sharing this! I haven't seen it for nearly 56 years. I stayed up late to watch it on TV that glorious night. Crazy how many fouls were awarded against us in that first half - 20? I remember Foggons goal very differently, time changes memories. He and Keith Dyson were the next best things, but I don't remember either of them making it really big. Great days that we will see repeated again.
  11. My avatar is my 'Pops' and his business partner looking after the cup in '55. I dream of the day I can look to the skies and smile for him.
  12. Gordon Marshall and John Tudor both gone. Legends both and a sad, sad day.
  13. This is more like it!! none of this wrap around bubble wrap crap. That's a real stadium!
  14. Was going to say exactly the same thing. It's horrible I want a REAL cathedral on the hill. Spires, steeple at the front, all made from stone and brick. Something worship and look up to and wonder 'how glorious is that'
  15. 100%. And the fact that our lads are getting England recognition too, plus the football we've been playing, plus the decent chance of playing in Europe, good runs in cups etc...What's not to like?
  16. Did you watch Dibling in the Brentford game? He strolled around with his socks down by his ankles, looked totally disinterested, barely ran anywhere. I know Southampton are bad, but he seriously didn't impress me at all. I guess there's something in him that Eddie and Co. can see.
  17. Good God. The man is deluded and a complete and utter a-hole. Watched a couple of minutes and couldn't stand the man, his voice or the crap he was spouting.
  18. Both of the next two games are winnable if we play like we have done of late. Man U are shit and Spurs are all over the place right now
  19. Just watched that. The guy shouldn't be anywhere near a football pitch. He's just completely lost interest. £300k a week? Seriously? That's 15 years of an average persons wage. Utter disgrace.
  20. Fantastic!!! What a dream day.........
  21. Not being pessimistic, but our last wins have been against pretty terrible opposition, although that's certainly helped get our confidence back and the midfield is really looking good and strong, Isak scoring run too. Villa are a quality side and it's going to be tough game and a real test of just how far we've progressed. A win would be massive.
  22. I'd absolutely love him here, he'd wow the crowds and lift every player around him. But, I read that Liverpool are closing in on him. Don't know how true that is....
  23. If that's 39000 then I must be seeing the invisible men, times about 20000!
  24. I never have and never will look at RAWK. Bunch of mal adjusted self opinionated, self entitled yobs.
  25. Being an older guy and having been at all the Fairs Cup matches and the league home games, when I could, in the '60's, John Mac was a colossus in every sense of the word. Just loved watching him destroy opponents, literally. He took the ball and Alan Ball out completely when we played Everton, put Gary Sprake and the ball in the net when we played Leeds but the best memory was at Roker Park, can't remember the year, but I'm sure it was very near the end of the game but he scored with a typical towering header and then clung on to the cross bar in celebration. Magic moments of a true giant and legend. RIP you hero!
