That's not how it works. If he is carrying a long term injury that is only going to improve with rest and recovery, then he absolutely needs time out at the earliest opportunity. Every manager is going to balance out allowing their players to recover versus getting the best team on the pitch relative to the situation the club finds themselves in. There's always gonna be a chance here that Joelinton would've been on the pitch if we were desperate, but we can absolutely afford to rest him now. Of course, you could be right and he could have a new knock which means he just cannot play. But we do know he has had this problem for a while.
