  1. Don't torture yourself, man. It's been over a decade and I would wager a lot of money that this latest stuff about selling is pure bullshit. However, if he does fuck off, I might be tempted to upgrade my outlook for the club from perennial relegation fodder to making the top 6 into a top 7...
  2. Are we doing a sweepstake on when the 'talks' turn out to be bullshit? My bet is on the 24th when no-one will take any notice because it's nearly Xmas.
  3. I thought his fee was 12.5m, and he has never looked like an eight-figure player. Rafa's transfer business has generally been good (given the circumstances), but this one continues to baffle me. He's clearly not, and I don't think will ever be, a superior option to Ayoze. Was he a Benitez pick, or did one of Ashley's underlings see him on YouTube? Fair point - it sticks out like a sore thumb amongst our other transfer dealings. I genuinely don't know who sanctioned the signing, but someone saw enough to drop 12.5m on him which wouldn't be done lightly. I very much doubt it was done on his current ability, which appears to be League 1 standard, but perhaps someone thought he had lots of potential (little bit of pace, terrible footballing brain - can be developed). I suspect that someone needs handing their P45 for wasting 12.5m...

  5. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11741/11572972/brighton-ban-supporter-alleged-to-have-thrown-pie-at-crystal-palace-players Police arrested and Brighton have subsequently banned a fan for throwing a pie at Palace players. Needless to say I am shocked. What sort of world do we live in where you can't even throw a pie at players any more. I hope SSN interview Mick Quinn about this...
  6. 100% yes please. Would also like to see Shaaaaar behind Shelvey to force Shelvey higher up the pitch.
  7. I hope she was fat, otherwise it's just a wasted gesture. I also hope she ate it and then provided you with perfectly round circles.
  8. I'll cross your wires. Now leave me alone. I've got work to be getting on with that I've been avoiding doing...
  9. At no point have said that fans bewing is acceptable. My point was that professional footballers should be mentally strong enough to play in front of tens of thousands of people. If they aren't, then it's going to be a bit of an issue. And how the f*** is some of our fans grumbling at Murphy being s*** being compared with some racist t*** throwing a banana on the pitch?! Because your point is that players should be thick skinned enough to deal with abuse, I'm saying that one person dealing with it well doesn't vindicate the abuse in the first place, then used the Dani Alves/Aubemayang examples. It doesn't work like that, you can't expect every player to deal with everything in the same way, fair enough if you're Obertan and can't handle anything, but jeering your substitution and hurling abuse at players in SJP and on their Twitter and Instagram is utterly rank behaviour and Perez or whoever else shouldn't be expected to be thick-skinned enough to deal with it just because someone else was 26 years ago. Since when was groaning when a player cocks it up comparable to abuse on Twitter?! At no point have I said abusing players is fine. You are desperate for me to say that though to try and validate your argument. Abusing anyone is not fine. We all know this, so stop trying to twist what I have said. I'll repeat it once more as you seem to be struggling with the concept. Players should be mentally tough enough to cope with the crowd groaning when things go badly. This is core to being a professional sportsperson. So why have you used someone throwing a pie as an example? Screaming moaners doesn't sound like the crowd groaning to me, there's an obvious difference. It was an example of a player overcoming criticism to become a valuable player. You then turned things up to 11 by talking about racist abuse and the internet.

  12. Both footballers playing football for NUFC who were being criticised by the fans. Mick Quinn shrugged off his critics and scored 57 goals in 110 games for the club. Probably a lesson in there somewhere. I'm sure you can pull it out...
  13. Yeah but I think he's better utilised away from home; no screaming moaners whenever he loses possession or makes a mistake and his pace on the break. Rafa needs to tell him to be direct and to run at his man, it's where his assists for us have come from. When he's getting down the line his crosses are decent, he has to stop putting his foot on top of the ball and turning in wide areas. It happened in the second half last night and it's frustrating as f***. In 1992, a fan threw a pie at Mick Quinn who responded by picking it up and eating it. If players now are so thin skinned that they aren't able to play without fans refusing to criticise their mistakes, they should probably stop collecting their thousands of pounds a week and find another job. Not that I am one to bew, but I think fans who are forking out a small fortune to watch are probably entitled to grumble a bit when someone who is paid more in a week than they are in a year trips over the ball.
  14. Surely being 14th is enough of an excuse not to spend? We're overachieving by 3 places.
  15. Speech impediments constitute patheticnesses, now? Yes. As does being short and wearing glasses.
  16. That's a fair appraisal. Probably why we are in this cycle of Aim for 17th>Scrape up>Have an off season>Go down>Walk the Championship>Stay up>Top Half>Struggle>Repeat. We are never more than a minute away from crisis, and with such a weak squad in a league full of also-rans, that can see us go from 10th to 18th very quickly. It's not the lack of playing quality that's the issue, it's the lack of stability and predictability in the background. It’s 100% the lack of playing quality. Which stems from the owners...

  18. Too soon , too late , too much , too little ... theres always an excuse ... lets just admit the facts , most ‘ fans ‘ are spineless wimps of low iq who seem to want to pay £ to Ashley come what may . Even the supposed boycotters seem half hearted . Imo the boycott should go ahead and should be every match no matter how small . Persistence is the key Low IQ is associated with poor punctuation. Make of that what you will. Accusing others of low IQ is always a dangerous game! Especially when it looks like you type wearing boxing gloves whilst angrily riding a horse...
  19. I thought Perez was deliberately pronounced with a lisp because he's such a pathetic melt.
  20. Classic N-O I fully remember the clamour to see Colocinni at DM and then the silence when it happened and he was crap at it.
  21. No he doesn’t Yeah, except that he does and there's a mountain of evidence to back that up. Keep up, man. What evidence please show me People who aren't arsed about boycotts and protests generally don't hire a PR firm (KBA) to specifically tackle them. Then there's the following: "The Spurs boycott genuinely shocked Ashley and made NUFC the highest spenders in Europe as a result" - Luke Edwards and corroborated by George Caulkin at a Talk in last December, from a source close to Ashley. https://twitter.com/bigchrisholt/status/1058112196302041090?s=09 Then there's: Keegan protest - Ashley immediately puts the club up for sale and puts out his first woe is me statement including "I've got the message, you don't need to protest" Hull protest – KBA attempt to undermine the protest by announcing Jonas' cancer after they'd treated him terribly. Extra security on turnstiles and banners removed from protesters. Singing section sings about Ashley - Ashley removes the singing section. TMG starts - Ashley goes on Sky to lie and his KBA goons (Keys, Gray, Wise, Jordan, White, Ferdinand) go on to defend him. Sportsredirect – Ashley hires a new law firm to have site shut down Protest movement starts to target Sports Direct - Major Sports Direct shareholders literally advise other shareholders to vote against Ashley as CEO at the following AGM because "negative media stories about Ashley have damaged the company's public image." Keith Bishop overheard at an airport assuring someone calling on behalf of Ashley that "Don't worry, it'll all blow over in a month" Ponteland meal – Ashley resorts to sticking his Vs up at protesters Approached by fan in London – Ashley tries to start on him. Approached at the committee last week - "Please don't bother me no more" 11 minute walk in – match stream is turned off in foyer. Wolves boycott - goes on Sky to announce that club is as far along as it's ever been to being sold, local journalists and True Faith remove backing for protest, protest cancelled. That's just off the top of my head with me on my phone, if I was on the computer I'd have sources and links for all of the above. There are also plenty of other examples, including his fake bid set up with Sky and David Craig (KBA client again), his general thin-skin over everything. So yes, he does care. He cares because it affects Sports Direct. Great post.
  22. Bar Dubravka, Lascelles, Fernandez and Shelvey, we have a squad full of Champo level players, so he won't look out of place here. Lejeune? Schar? Ki? Rondon? Yedlin? Kenedy? Aye, some of them we should be looking to upgrade on but to dismiss them as Championship standard players is harsh imo. Schar looks like he has some potential. Rondon could do a job with a decent 10 behind him. The others - nah...
  23. Perez offered more in his cameo than Murphy - a fact I know you'll enjoy. Shame you couldn't have seen it. Didn't see it, but not a surprise - using Murphy as a yardstick isn't setting the bar very high.
  24. Head (real life) says win, heart (natural crushing negativity associated with all things NUFC) says defeat.
