  1. Patriot Dean missed all his good performances last season because he stopped watching when we got relegated in December.

Rafa Out. All his signings are the shitest players I’ve ever seen. Especially Juan Hyperbole, I’d prefer to get gang raped to death than watch him take another throw in.

Not one to defend the Deanmeister, but Perez was a Pardew signing.  ;)

    #tainted

  2. Slightly gutted about that like. I was planning on getting a Pinnacle bike, but now I'll have to go second hand or go somewhere else.

CRC and Wiggle are better options. Shame about Evans. It was a 'proper' bike shop. Never going to see another penny of mine now. Partially because I don't want to give that fat twat any of my money, but mainly because it'll just end up full of No Fear s****.

  3. Next season's gonna be really hard for their fans to take.

After seeing their team win again against pub teams, getting thumped week after week in the Championship will not sit well with these dafties.

Going to be funny when they turn on their saviour Donald.

  4. Will be super embarrassing if we go down with less than 20 points.  I can see 17th place ending up surviving with a record low total (currently 34 points), such is the lack of quality in the bottom third of the league. If we continue to average 0.3 ppg as we currently are, we'll end up with 11/12 points(!).

    Proper grim.

Only saving grace at the minute is the other shocking teams around us and the likelihood that Ashley will be forced to invest in January.  Bookies have us pretty much 2/1 to go down which should roughly translate as we'll be shite, but we'll probably be less shite than three others (pretty much what Rafa said).

Shit times to be a fan.  Best case - we continue to be makeweights in the division, worst case we become the next Derby.

The heady heights of Howay 5-0 and Milan are a lifetime away now.

  5. He scored 8 goals in the Premier League last season and 10 in total. No matter what you think of him (and he frustrates the life out of me) he clearly has his worth as a player, let alone over the anyone that you think would do better.

8 goals in 32 (plus 8 sub) appearances is pretty underwhelming for a main striker.  He also has 0 goals in 8 appearances so far this season which is abysmal.  My point is that his poor goal scoring record is his biggest positive.  He adds fuck all in every other department.  I'd rather get one of the under 23s in the team and tell them to goal hang - Perez is that much of a waste of a pick at the minute.

  6. The very best players know when to conserve energy for when running won't be wasted rather than just running about tbh. At least in his position anyway.

Like Rio Ferdinand puts it, if one of the first things you hear about a player is that they work hard and put themselves about, your automatic assumption is that they've got nothing about them.

I don't see effort as being a problem with Perez anyway like, it's more him overplaying it, running into trouble, or misplacing passes imo.

The real problem with Perez is that he's got absolutely nothing to offer on the pitch.  No pace or athleticism.  Zero strength.  No footballing brain or vision.  He doesn't move into dangerous spaces and the game just passes him by.  All he does is get the ball in really un-threatening positions then tries to draw a foul and throws himself on the floor, usually embarrassingly and unsuccessfully.  We'd be better off getting any other player and telling them to just get in the box and try and get a few goals (© Kevin Nolan).  He is a truly awful, awful player.

  7. Was s*** today. Should have been running that midfield fed by Shelvey, but was nowhere to be seen. The couple of times he did get the ball he wasted it with badly executed flicks.

That's where I'm getting confused, I see Shelvey as the playmaker, and Diame as the midfield enforcer whose role is more breaking up opposition play rather than running the show.

That would work too.  The way Shelvey plays, he seems to sit deep and look to give the ball to someone further up to create the chance.  If we had a spoiling CM, Shelvey could push up and play as an advanced playmaker.  It just seems that if Shelvey wants to stay deep, we'd need an AM as an outlet for him, which Diame didn't do today.

Either way, Diame is neither an enforcer or a creator.  He's adding nothing at the minute.

I agree, he's not a very good player, but I don't think he's the reason we can barely manage a decent effort on goal in 90 mins. Defensively we were fine yesterday, he played his part in that, I think our real problems are further forward, whether that's the wide areas or up front.

Totally agree. Yesterday, we played a defensive 4 with Dummett and Yedlin largely staying back.  Shelvey was left having to come deep to collect and was faced with Richie or Kenedy who were unable to get the ball past Southampton's midfield screen or Muto who was running the 10 channel and wide, even though he was alongside Perez.  Perez and Diame were nowhere to be seen for most of the game.

We'd be much better if we had a 9 who could compete the long ball or a 10/AM who was happy getting the ball to feet under pressure.  Maybe the cheapest option would be to get a basic DM and use Shelvey as a AM and keep him forward.  We cold even forget about wingers and pack the centre of midfield or go for wide forwards.  The first time anyone actually ran at Souhampton yesterday was Atsu in about the 90th minute.

  8. We know he's not good enough, he's in the side because we won't pay the going rate for a top striker, and haven't done since Cisse. Even he wasn't really a top striker, but compared to what we are spending these days, he was world class. It's pointless ranting about these guys tbh, Perez runs his socks off, just obviously limited in a few departments.

Running your socks off is not a pre requisite for a premier league footballer

Running your socks off is a prerequisite for a professional footballer full stop.  Very, very few footballers are good enough for the game to revolve around them, and even then these days, even the very best players still put the miles in.

The days of your Jan Molbys are gone, and anyway, Perez is a fucking wank footballer and isn't anywhere good enough to be considered as a luxury player.

  9. How can Bournemouth with no Billionaire owner and an average attendance of 11000 with no loan players, a record transfer fee of £25 million and a state of the art training ground and academy getting built not be going bust ?

TV money and the fact that their owner is not draining tens of millions of pounds out of the club.

  10. Would a drone bring down a chopped in this manner? I just thought these days fans use drones etc, could have been filming or waiting for the players like some have said and filming on the drone,  with it being dark at night they are very difficult to spot.

Extremely unlikely that a drone would take a helicopter out.  Also, drones are a massive no-no at football matches.

Don't get why people can't accept that things sometimes break and things sometimes go wrong.  People keep trying to invent some nefarious event that caused that helicopter to crash.  Pure speculation and completely un-needed during tragedies such as this.

  11. Was at a 10 last week, the s*** around them is my only hope

    9

You say hope, but what's the benefit in avoiding relegation ?

A double relegation a la the mackem cunts might actually do the trick.

  12. Was epically shit today, as always.

All he seems to do is pathetically throw himself on the floor then stop playing to shout at the referee whilst the opposition run away with the ball unopposed.  If he actually stayed on his feet and tried to play the game he might add some value.

    Play the whistle you thundercunt!

  13. Agree all three are solid defensively but as a team if they are part of the reason we can't function or retain the ball it needs to change.  Agree again though that it won't

I feel that with a username like that I can't disagree with you.

  14. Shelvey plays deep because Lascelles, Fernandez and Dummett can't pass the ball.  We massively miss Lejeune. I'd give Schar a chance instead of fernandez or lascelles or we might as well be playing Shelvey as a sweeper

Ironically, those three were pretty solid today. If anything, Yedlin was the weak link.  I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa sticks with Fernandez and Lascelles for the next few games, at least.

  15. Shelvey’s coming so deep to get the ball because otherwise he’d never see it. Our defence and “midfield enforcer” should be getting the ball to Shelvey higher up, without him having to be a libero and collect the ball from Dummet’s feet.

For some reason Scott Parker flashed into my mind and I immediately remembered his fucking twirl and the fact that he never in his whole career passed a ball forwards and my mind just went 'Nope!'.

Someone like peak Cabaye would be good - someone who could tackle and also pass the ball forwards.  Unfortunately none of our team fit this description, and unless we break the bank in January, I don't think we'll get another 'visionary' midfielder to sit behind Shelvey.
