As a local I have the same sentiment. I remember the sheer animosity between teams growing up, and as a kid you could use 'urgh, he supports Sunderland'as a devastating insult . But to be honest now I wish them no ill will, except to be beaten by us at every derby game The North East is far too tribal man. It's good for the region for a North East team to do well.
