See they can sack a Johnson, when there's nothing to gain by turning a blind-eye to grooming minors anyway.

Warnock with his promotion and play-off record is the best man they could get. Be a bit beneath their status as the bank of England club though and wont look ambitious from the new/old regime. Going out on a limb to predict this sequence of events over the next year for the next manager 1) They'll be the right choice for 5month and all will be the fault of the previous manager 2) depending on whether they've just won or lost their fickle little brains will alternate between hating and thinking manager is the right man 3) Ultimately will be hounded out

Speaking of Manilow, time for a blast of Mandy?

I'd be happy with an Nketiah type more than Nketiah but still err on the side of if he's better than what we have for that role (nobody/unfit/passed it Gayle) okay

Worked out well. I can enjoy deadline day, whilst still wanting 1or2, that we've addressed every area being in the back pocket takes any edge off. Also not concerned about who, if any, goes for the first time in a long time.

Very sleek breaking news strip btw.

Interesting. The lads I grew up with got into causing bother at various places they proudly told me. Johnny Come Lately's to a man their away days started under Sir Bobby and so missed the Keegan era where tickets were gold dust and where the vibe was very different in my experiences and far from marauding around Breda, games I was at and heard about, we got on great with Antwerp, Rangers, Bilbao, Sheffield United, Liverpool. *they were all also soft as clarts which makes it even more pathetic, never seen one of them win or start a fight at home.

"Today's trouble at the match" love the title, 'today's' so as to differentiate it from Charlton, Portsmouth, Fleetwood, Lincoln, Coventry, Ipswich and Rotherham. "Spent more time watching the bottles getting thrown at the Bolton fans than I did watch the match" "Pleased to see the fat ginger steward get a slap for being a prick throughout the match." Probably jumped on the Keegan bandwagon as he and his Derby team-mates were beating us 4-1 in 1992.

Shearer against Bayer Leverkusen esque. Which is the closest they'll get to Champions League, a Shearer or Bayer Leverkusen
-
Trouble again. Turning on each other "battling with themselves". Mag spies again?
-
They'll be chasing after Willem like the Vietcong after his character in Platoon after the first defeat.
-
Yeah. Bolton nearly got as many against the mackems as they did against Rotherham. Nowt says cup final like matching a gate against Rotherham,
-
6-0 in the 3rd Division is some level of s**t. That would be pathetic for Hartlepool or Darlington, Maidstone or Aldershot. The really kicker is it will go barely unnoticed outside of this region. Apprently massive club loses 6-0 in the 3rd tier, country shrugs its shoulders.

"half of the 6k have gone" Sunlin til i die every one of them

You know on Robocop2 where Robocop pulls out and smashes Kane's brain into the road. That's what the takeover did to this nuke/nufc fixated f*ckwit. The subsequent computerised scream is how I picture his face after he races to his computer every morning to check out the latest NUFC stuff.

I think its because its like Dr Who with Mullers, there's always one - Gerd transitioned to Andreas (via the Brazilian) who transitioned to Thomas

Remember Greame Courtney saying 'Hull still hoping to do this, Sunderland still trying to sign X, Middlesbrough will do Y if Z happens' - "as for Newcastle the lights are switched off and everybody's gone home" you'd had to have experienced Ashley to realise there's a good chance that literally happened.
-
Not at all saying they're wrong or that Nketiah has got 40goals a season in him, but they probably rightly (at the time, based on what they saw) said the same thing about a very raw, uneasy on the eye, fast but unconvincing, chance squandering Andy Cole

Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

No contest if your not blinded by bling. Robert guaranteed goals. ASM guarantees dribbles. -
Benefit of the doubt after Norwich, been a decent servant and pro and only here because of the deliberate incompetence of the previous regime, but that tears it.
-
I suppose the context will be lost that they have to go back 31 and 44years to produce bad gates is given that you could do that with basically every club bar Man United in that time frame (Spurs got 7k in the topflight in 87 and Everton 13k the season before they won the league.) whilst damning their own support- if were bad, what does that say for their inferior gates over the years? 44 years ago Mags got 7k against Wrexham, 4months ago Mackems got 7k against Mansfield.

A Centre-defender and whilst I'd like more, I think I could take anything else as a bonus on Monday, and frankly expect one too.
-
I'm rather hoping the next several will tbh PL status secure, coinage, ice broken with signings, on our way back

Can still hear Motson's traditional NUFC bitterness to this day arguing with Claridge who said he was nuts to go to QPR over us.
-
Aye our version of Mike Newell at Blackburn, who couldn't give their money away before they got him. *bit of a dated reference admittedly
