Apparently its obsessive to compare signings between rival clubs, or, presumably, to compare anything between rival clubs.....if they're the sh1tty end of the stick anyway. Despite that being all they pretty much do on that thread or in their footballing lives for many.
  2. Well our new owners might have done all that, but have they let the fans paint the seats for free? That's the proof of a new golden era iirc.
  3. Pearson's the kind of bloke that watched Fantasy Football for the Fantasy Football
  4. The actual boot room at Benwell would genuinely not be out of place there.
  5. Only thing with Ramsey is the position we are in we are still looking at angles - contracts expiring, out of favour - and it being January, were not deploying the original plan for me or a showcasing an ethos. Were it the summer and we were safe I'd much rather not. Figure anything we bring in is an improvement and gives us more of a chance at the moment.

If we bought their club they'd say it was a s**t signing, waste of money and better off buying a more expensive but younger club like Boro
  7. If any nation doesn't have a translation of that, it would be France

Reminiscent of when West Ham bought Lucas Neill apparently. When Trippier scored that goal in the world cup semi-final I reckon they thought "reminds me of Lucas Neill this s**t c**t" and just a few short weeks ago whilst watching him play for Spanish champions Atletico Madrid "neh, does nowt for me, Blackburn level at best"

If that forum was around back in the day "Inter Milan, Barcelona, Feyenoord, Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen are s**te/only play sh*te against the Mags"

Were deluded if we want to sign marquee players - win for them Were deluded if we don't sign marquee players and not the richest club in the world - win for them If we don't win anything - win for them If we win something, its tainted so... - win for them Since everything between us and them comes up as a win for them, why do they have such Shelbyville loser mentalities and outlooks about it?
  11. Statement, proven, relatively modest fee, something that's needed, worked with the manager yep
  12. Pistone had a great debut.
  13. Vension is the best right back I think we've had in my time.....just not as a right back. Was a beast at centre-half in 93/94 and player of the year in centre-midfield in 94/95. Though he was very good at right-back in 92/93.

That's okay. Its not like Man United and Sunderland have been or ever will be rivals. Like supporting us but liking Gateshead. Anyway post983 on page50 of 53 since Saturday on Newcastle on their forum has this to say: "Why are you whinging on here? Shirley it would be better directed at you own stinking lot NOBODY GIVES A FLYING ON HERE ABOUT sCUMCASTLE" the comment was liked - presumably by like minded casual observers that also just happened to be passing by and fancied reading or making a comment on this thread, but no other ones.
  15. Just as well unlike Charnley the forum has the capacity to handle that.
  16. Only when she and Nelson were camping
  17. Is his source being pooh-poohed?
  18. its almost tacitly the case anyway that good players get sold if their clubs go down, always has been that way, just a little bit of warranty.
  19. Its like any game that's ever been called off for any reason if the starting XI's aren't exactly the same when the rearranged fixture takes place. When we finished 2nd to Man United in 96 re-arranged fixtures meant they played Sunday-Sunday and we had to play Monday-Thursday-Sunday When we finished 2nd to them in 97 they played Saturday 12noon-Thursday-Sunday we played Saturday 3pm-Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday concievably cost us the title twice, yet during a pandemic and massive positive cases THIS is the scandal not the one of those things
  20. Luke stating in that tweet he'd rather be a wanker than irrelevant explains his entire career/life
  21. Looks like the nest at the end of Alien Resurrection
  22. Berkley and "No Thanks" dont belong in the same sentence, unless were not talking about Elizabeth Berkley in Showgirls
  23. Said it before but heard it last night on a review - Watford and Norwich showed "character" to bounce straight back Which would mean they showed a lack of character to go down Which would mean they basically neither have character nor lack it and the whole concept is redundant and it might just be that this is sport not Jung's couch.
  24. Second the above post. Stats don't give the full picture. Some arguementative types argue that the season before Ashley we only finished 7points about the relegation zone or whatever, where if they'd lived that season they'd know relegation was not on the cards. We won like one game after January or something and still were mathmatically safe with months to go. We were more in danger of going down in 87/88 where we ended up finishing 7th We finished 2nd in 96 and 97 but they were very different years.
