Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Wolfcastle replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
Used to be a lass on Byker Grove played by Jayni Hoy. The circle is complete -
This is the perfect vacancy to smoke out the media and other fans b*llocks. If he doesn't get this, he's done in the PL forever, yet apparently still good enough for us

Yes. The only person I'd feel comfortable directing infrastructure building is Rafa. Otherwise they're here to coach. -

Very 88/89 all this. Except for the abilities of the then Brazilian forward and the current one. Just don't know if Howe is going to be Jim Smith or Howard Kendall. -
First team to lose a televised FA Cup penalty shoot-out that season (or to lose a shoot-out after the prelim round, speaking of the mackems) - I wonder if we weren't the first team to lose two penalty shoot outs in the same season, certainly the first to have them both televised.

Read that we had 7k for a cup game against Tranmere before Keegan took over on there a while back, I take it that'll get a dusting off. Even though it never happened, the game, fixture or crowd. 28k for a televised game against 3rd tier Bournemouth they'll find if they check the record books instead of going off the mythology of toothless bitter sad nerd rocking back and forwards in the corner of their local. *Don't even think we'd ever played Tranmere at SJP at that point. I do enjoy how there isn't even a kernal of truth in their folklore.

Its a concern again and it can't be like this in January. Need these, hopefully, teething problems sorted by then. -

I do quite like there being someone with local knowledge/a fan involved in set ups, especially when its someone new, kinda out of left field coming in. Albeit we had that with Pardew it was in a malaise that messrs Carver and Stone were comfortable with. I dunno stops a disconnect even if its just a placebo effect -
Yeah I've noticed, I wonder who they think is responsible for our being in a relegation battle since its clearly not the previous manager

England had Bryan Robson in 96 and Don Howe 90 helping out in training so we shouldn't hang our hats on that. Though being just one of a number of coaches here is different to being a manager so shouldn't effect his future work with us. Anyway can't wait for the Steve's to be rolled up -

Remember one called 'Obvious Infaltrator' on an old forum. Stopped popping on when wasn't working so missed the plot losing. After relegation to the old regional leagues was it? -

His job could basically be to undo all the damage he helped cause at the behest of his master. Chief F*ckwit in Charge of Own Sh*t Cleaning Up Officer

How 2? - being as he's the second choice, a nickname henceforth? -
Isn't that the entire point though. Was thinking we need 7 before the tough fixtures kick, any less and can't see us staying up, the gap will be too big with anything less to have any confidence about staying up.

Often seems to accompany bulls**t mythology I find. Blank cheque book e.g. when we were selling players for British records -

03/04 was better than 95/96?!! That's wild mate. 03/04 wasn't even better than the previous two seasons under Sir Bobby and 'far' better!!!?!?! -

They won the league with 101points and lost two games in 18 after Keegan got the England job, almost exactly the same form which they started the season in.. -

He left Fulham for England because the public and media were gagging for him.
