The Europeometerâ„¢ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)
Wolfcastle replied to Rich's topic in Football
Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City - definite CL for me Chelsea probably 4th - were probably the most likey if not so by definition 5th 6th. Heard Villa weren't clever today and the first half an absolute stinker with Forest that'll likely be the teams with the pecking order up fror grabs - no offence to Fulham and Bournemouth, who'll probably finish ahead of Spurs and Man United -
Yeah, you'd calm down the second to fourth time around and use different terminology if it was just rage and being a bad loser - just makes him come off worse to add cynicism with a zest of bullshit to it
-
Atmosphere sounded dire - national commentators mentioned as much at half-time - though there's no real frame of reference with it being Spurs.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Wolfcastle replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
Its much of the reason for my 'blind loyalty' in those spells. All we'd be doing is paying off a coaching staff to pay to bring in a coaching staff on the off chance that they'd do what Eddie has already proven he can do. -
Our potentially not winning anything is the new sequence of results being all important, which was the new 'top dogs', which was the new 2-1, which was the new 'one more seat than', which was the new 'when the stadium's built'. and yet its a relic from the 90s and Sir Bobby's era too. Similarly in response to champions league palpitations they hope we 'humiliate' ourselves again (didn't even happen under Daglish but okay).

Spurs and the media constantly putting Spurs in the highest echelon (whilst historically better clubs are not) is their biggest asset and biggest problem.

I get that he's overly proud of his depleted teams performance and the decision not going his way though its hardly the controversey or howler implied - but his estimation of the game is at best clouded by that emotion at worst just absolute bollocks and small wonder he's struggling. They were better in the second half creating hardly anything we were by far the better in the first half and missed the two best chances beside the goals - if this isn't some sort of game to motivate the players for the week ahead he's a bitter deluded tosser.

Been so much better at centre-half. Much needed for us too. Feels like one of those veterans that's been in the middle of a team's defence for a decade, solid, crusy, captaincy stuff

Doesn't win every game though and have us consistently punching above our sanctioned limited weight -

Looks more like the Meyler incident than coitus. -
They made a change is what changed. They didn't do it for no reason.

Not sure people won't complain at that mind

Next goal the key, would love to muller them but would take there being no more goals

The elbow/non-elbow just reminded me of that time Tony Adams remonstrated an elbow on him with the elbow motion to the referee and accidentally caught Mark Bright behind him and got sent-off. Could only happen to him that.

Calm is the word. On a number of occasions (not just Hall) i was a bit nervous for the players but the players weren't at all and got out situations a lot better than I'd have settled for, a whack clear or whatever, because of that composure.

Just seeing the one standard morbidly pessimistic/willing defeat re-post a page back is enough for me. Probably the 10,000th time you've come a croper but keep up the bad work
-
absolutely gutted again I see. Yeah we were hanging on for dear life prior to the red-card, that one tame free-kick that anybody could have saved was like the alamo. "like the last 10minutes against Barcelona" thought nobody
-
Probably sack some poor sods in the club shop for this
-
As underdogs have seen them raise their game on and off the pitch for occasions - not for a while though, but lingers as one of those was against us

Subs feels a bit like "is that all you've got"

"generational talents" don't tend to last long at clubs that can only dream about being a yo-yo club. Mbappe and Ronaldo didn't last long at Monaco and Sporting Lisbon. But they'd easily be able to hold onto their generational talents.

More fannyish decisions in this game than I've seen for a while
