  1. I could live with an emotional rollercoaster but not this flatlined hopeless lobotomy that's rigged to fail from the start. I mean, how can you invest in that. That some people still will - emotionally and financially is also just too pathetic to be associated with.
  2. So when does the moral crusade against the Premier League's uncomfortably close relationship with human rights abusing, modern slaving, world cup bribing Qatar begin? Or are all these dropping their morals now, satisfied completely that they've blocked the takeover of a football club. Yeah. That'll solve all their 'genuine' gripes.
  3. Its a homage, or looks extremely similar, to their early 90s shirt (92-94?ish) so those that remember it will be desensitised to it. First time around I can imagine the feeling was like that bar-code one we had.
  4. The Premier League have no obligation to publicly comment on the outcome, pass or fail Yes. And knowing what he is to the club Ashley is hardly likely to make the announcement "yeah I'm staying and things are going to be even sh*tter than they've been so far" when there's fans to con and media to continue to feed the "how can you expect him to invest when he's trying to sell the club" line.
  5. That's it then. The shop is closed. Everything is set how it is now. Nobody else can come in and compete. Waste of time and money to get involved now for the good of a club, only to benefit the owners from owning clubs making up the numbers in the PL. The sheer glory of that. That's why we all fell in love with football. Man City are locked in as the dominant force. 30 games of attack versus defence a season like the game that's just finished. Exciting and yet more glory.
  6. Out-right lie. Nobody can be that stiupd.
  7. Third bottom of the form table - with one team below us in play now - and that doesn't include the cup game. Back from lockdown strong though the media reckon
  8. Baring in mind the owner of NUFC will not come out and confirm there is no takeover - knowing what he is and that he is toxic to the club and that his staying will naturally be a huge deterrent to fan interest - it would effect season ticket sales and boycotts. As well as providing an excuse for his assets in the media to push the narrative 'why invest when he's trying to sell' as the lack of investment continues. The Premier League need to at least be made aware, on the record, of this fact and if there is no takeover, they need to announce it to avoid the continued conning of fans. It would be too much to ask for them to do something about an owner that uses takeovers real and imagined to con fans and create an excuse for lack of investment so this would be an extremely modest step to show some toke care towards football fans.
  9. This. How on Earth they've managed to get themselves involved so heavily is an absolute joke. Yes they have the rights but that's for the PL to sort out with SA. It's the content of the PL not Qatar. The PL have been bossed and bullied by Qatar so much its laughable. If/when the takeover goes away. For the sake of all these morals, a lot of media and parliamentary attention should be focused on that. Would be wrong in any sense for a country to have such a say in English football much less one with human rights abuses, modern and current slavery and one that bribed FIFA to host a world cup. In the name of morals and cleaning up sport. Is this the QPL or something like? Yet not a peep I shouldn't wonder.
  10. Does anybody remember a gameshow called Takeover Bid? Me neither, just stumbled across it now by chance. But it says "the series where contestants play Fact or Fib, Crazy Cryptics and Star Spin in the hope that one of them will win tonight's star prize" and if that's not enough Brucie is the host. What if this is all just one giant game of that? A bit like the Never Ending Story - which this also happens to be. https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/bbcone/london/1991-07-15
  11. They've a sick and weird way of looking at things when you can get 40points and go down and stay up on 37points in another season. As long as a team gets more points than the previous manager did though
  12. Yep. That was really really good. Think everyone should listen to that for some insights into this takeover and previous ones that didn’t quite make. Interesting that BZG pulled out because they felt it was an insult to have to pay a non-refundable deposit to Ashley, along with a number of other insults they felt Ashley dealt them. Also, rumours that the new owners have already bought the freehold for SJP. (Some leaks from the city council) And that PIF/PCP etc had been told around June 1st by the PL that they were going to pass the takeover but on the proviso that they make efforts to sort the piracy. PIF apparently felt that this meant the deal was done. Well worth a listen, whatever you think of Wraith and Mitch. Just the sort of reassuring I like before going to bed, especially on Friday. Like watching Cheers as a kid.
  13. We've stagnated at best. Gone back really. Been fair with him. Thing that's got me set against him most is the ridiculous and sudden (didn't happen at Villa or Sheffield Wed or anywhere else) deifying of him by the media. Hate him now. In fairness he's only reminded me that I hate him by bringing up his Ashley regime crawling stance. Reminded me that he deserves all the s**t and more that he gets. Nearly forgot myself there.
  14. Maybe the PL want the TV rights to go there and not for them to buy NUFC. Like 'nevermind that, can I interest you in this'. certainly think they're c*ntly enough and Masters would at least be in compliance with his job remit (least the only way it will be judged inside football) that way, of improving PL revenue.
  15. I feel like I'd go for him. Not even sure I could say that about Ashley. He's either so s**t, thick and scamming a living that he compels me to drum some sense into him, or a very good wum, which compels me to drum him for the w*nkyness of being like that at his age. Either way its a public service really
  16. Some stuff is up for grabs, though time is ticking, but the settings that are official so far are: Bruce has conceded more goals than Rafa in each of this PL seasons. Football is far worse. Its also highly unlikely Rafa's 10th place can now be achieved. Still in play: Still less goals, less points, less wins, goal difference currently twice as bad. In no way yet has he bettered his predecessor Yet the vibe the media give out as is if its a no contest in Bruce's favour. I think something needs done about this ridiculously agenda driven campaign passing as fair comment. There are people who will believe what they're hearing.
  17. This broke in January, we were talking about this in January!!! and no further forward in July. Am certain that's our pre-season completely hindered now. Not like that won't be a disadvantage to perennial relegation candidates already held back by their owner or anything. Top work PL decision making blokes
  18. Aye, she’s a pane Time to draw the curtains and close this thread. It won't get any better Forget that...it needs framing Explains why no fuss was made regarding Saudi investment in Manchester United. She's close to the Glazers.

    Sunderland

NUFC lose = RTG win NUFC win = Bruce is better than Rafa and it must have killed us to win = RTG win every team NUFC get a result against is awful and were lucky yet lucky to have Bruce/Ashley = RTG win
  20. Pretty sure Nicholson sat on This Week and said he has no interest in football/sport. Okay there's something beyond sport here but why wasn't the same interest shown to other SA (and others) investments?. Also a few of his ex mates in the SNP fetch up on RT. Litvonenko, Skirpals, innocents caught up in that and the amount of innocents that could have been. Any outrage about that? Happened to happen in this very country. Is it the SNP - anti Israel/Saudi/USA pro Iran/Russia ideology in effect.
  21. Maybe he just wants to know where he stands, maybe even suspects he'll be here next season (no takeover) but just wants to know for sure. Sometimes the not knowing is worse than either outcome. Its been such a cushy gig for him - never earned it, not on ounce of s**t from match going people, total support across the media (more than Keegan!!!) and zero chance of being sacked by Ashley, that the not knowing is probably as uncomfortable as its been for him in this last year, the poor dear. Also there's the excuse factor.
  22. By my reckoning its 1564 weeks that he's been a total w*nker, but who's counting
  23. Souness was gone before the Kop was pulled down and rebuilt. May 94 against Norwich was the final game in front of the original Kop. Souness was sacked after they got beat at home by Bristol City in January. By sheer chance I happened to watch that May94 Match of the Day earlier this week. Liverpool v Sheffield United 28/10/92 17,856 (PL) < we were getting 30k a division below Liverpool v Crystal Palace 1/12/92 18,525 < Liverpool v QPR 8/12/93 24,561 Liverpool v Coventry 14/3/95 27,183
  24. BZG never got the official "waste of time" ending that Staveley and co #1 got. Or the "taking the club off the market" routine. It just faded into nothing, the media are that tired/pathetic to follow up and after a few weeks only about 5% of us believed it so saying anything was just calling attention to it. This limbo suits the club and the PL. No backlash, no assessement and the tried and tested no investment routine we've had for most of the last 13years. Perhaps as the season has been dragged out so to has this 'takeover' disproportionatley and without justification to excuse it. Feels like that where we are to me. Was never optimistic after the first week or two but am almost certain now it wont happen and its business/death of the club as usual.
  25. Good job he's a lot younger than ordinarily someone in his position would be, otherwise the PL delay would be putting that to the test.
